hey melo ... my daughter will be going to SU too

thats cool!!!!!!! i alwayz wanna meet new people.. i wont kno anyone when i get there.

kid was waitlisted

Melo ... my daughter will be in VPA with a major in interior design ... what will you be studying?

computer science and graphic design

i finally decided, even though i was accepted at Parsons and it was my top choice, i've decided to go to Syracuse based on the scholarship i was awarded. A bit bummed at the moment, but i applied to Syracuse for a reason - i knew i'd enjoy it....so i'm sure Parsons' lousy scholarship was a blessing in disguise :)

yeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahaha :) melo, if ure gna be majoring in graphic design does that mean ur gna be taking classes at the college of visual and performing arts then?

well...i thought graphic design was in newhouse. i got into l.c.smith but i wanna take graphic design at newhouse so i have to keep a 3.5 freshman year. i think its at newhouse tho.

but the important thing is. YOURE COMIN TO SYRACUSE!!!! does the artiste is comin to syracuse dance

hahaha most likelyy, i'm starting to get really excited for next year.

i dunno, i just figured graphic design fit in with the art school cos i was contemplating going into that myself. In the end i decided on advertising design but we'll have to see after the foundation year.

so what did you think to those learning community things in the brochure? i'm thinking i might do the one which doesn't involve housing...cos i'd rather meet people with loads of diff interests instead of just ppl like me

hey artiste ... that's what my daughter said ... she also believes it will be more fun and interesting to meet ppl that are not in visual arts

yeah exactly - i mean dont get me wrong people in the visual arts are going to be great to get along with because we'll have some sorta similar understanding....but i mean i wanna meet soccer players or ppl into international relations or literature or law...or even maths....tho admittedly im not sure we'd be able to find common ground with that interest!! blubelle, so ure daughter's going to be at the school of art too? what major is she thinking about.?

i have a friens who is a sophomore this year at newhouse...she says that reason why they assign housing in a random fashion because the want a good mix of majors in all frshman dorms so that you meet all kinds of people with varied interest...so the best thing to do, as advised by her is not to select a learning community...she was put in fliny hall last year which is one of the freshman dorms...

sorry ...meant FLINT HALL...

i was thinking that would be the case, besides im not sure if it's a huge benefit if im not really one of those people who find it hard to make friends at first. I probably wont join one of the learning communities...and if i do it'll prob be the one which doesnt involve housing

artiste ... my d is vpa and majoring in interior design ... what about u?

benandjerry ... good advice

well i applied for advertising design but i'm not completely sure yet....i think i'll need to have a good think after foundation
