I’m beginning this thread now and will continue it in much the same manner as last year. Please let me know of the acceptance, the date of notification, school and major. When the final decision has been made, notify me and I will high-lite that school within your list.
In order to keep the list neat and to avoid last year’s panicked comments (“I checked every time something was posted thinking that someone had heard from School XYZ!!!”), I’d really appreciate it if you would PM me with all of your information. I get an email each time that happens and I will update the list at least once per day, ending at midnight, EST. Thank you !!

I wonder if we could get better mileage on this thread if it was called 'Music Admissions Master List 2016" as it had been called in years past?
It wouldn’t matter a bit, @CelloONE16, because it is within the Music Forum so it’s still clear what it is. I post the acceptances as I receive them and it is still very early in the game to hear from schools. Threads can not be retitled anyway, so it’s a moot point.
NOTE: When a decision is made,the paperwork sent in, deposit paid and everything is signed, please send me a PM and I will indicate the student’s final decision in this thread. I imagine that most will take a while for this, but every once in a while, someone makes that decision early, so I thought I would clarify things for our new folks. Thanks!

Don’t know where to post this question: Son was just DEFERRED at UNC Chapel Hill . . . and his composition audition is this Saturday (2 days from now) … and it’s a 6 hour drive. Should he still do the audition? Can it have an impact? Or should we just cross it off our list?
Don’t cross it off yet! Call the music dept, explain your situation and check that he can still be accepted with a good audition. Don’t worry that he’s been deferred and they may be lukewarm. You’ll be talking to administration and they’ll just give you the skinny. Then you can make an informed decision.
This happened at my D’s undergrad school for another student from her high school. He was wait listed. After the audition, accepted.
Sometimes you have dig deep to get in. Good luck!
