Got my letter today!!!!!! It's been two weeks since they contacted me to let me know that they've began considering my application.
Thrilled doesn't even begin to cover how I felt - I think tears of joy gives a better idea!!!!
I actually missed their acceptance phone call on Tuesday because I was at work. I only just realized it after checking my messages and looking up the area code.

But I'm SO HAPPY to be accepted, and can breathe a sigh of relief at knowing where I'll be the next four years - that being, of course, if, between financial aid and scholarships, my family can afford it.

Post if you've gotten accepted! Can't wait to hear from new classmates!!!!!

congrats!! one of the best schools out there and very easily the best all around school…happy smart students, great education, great campus etc…

Congrats on your acceptance! You seem like a really nice person, and it’s always fun to read success stories about really nice posters on CC. I’m curious–did Muhlenberg contact you to let you know that they’d begun considering your application as soon as your file was complete, or was there a gap between the time that they received your paperwork and the time that they contacted you?

momof3, I got a card marked November 13th from them letting me know that they’ve received all components of my application and they would start evaluating. The very last bits of my app were submitted on November 11th. The acceptance letter was dated the 20th.
Thank you both! I’m so excited to get the chance to attend such a great school!

Did you happen to apply early decision? I also submitted my application pretty early, but applied regular decision.

I would say I applied around the same time as you, I also got that little card in the mail saying that they had all of my materials and were going to begin to review my application.

Hopefully I hear soon! I really like muhlenberg

Congrats Everlong, dcloebs, and lovethatmouse’s daughter!
Are either/any of you on the Class of 2017 group on facebook? I am, my name’s Emmaline :)

Now all we have to do is make it through last semester and summer!

Helllloooooooooooo, future class mates! I got accepted ED last week, but it was the day before I left for my Model Congress trip to University of Pennsylvania so I had no time to celebrate!
Congrats everyone! I hope to see you there!

I just joined the aforementioned group. I’m Nicole Colombo!

As a parent of a D whose conversations about where she might attend frequently come back to Muhlenberg, can I ask a question.

She has zero interest in Musical theater. How much of the school’s focus is directed in MT versus Health related sciences? Would she feel comfortable if she never tried out for MT and didn’t participate in that world. or is the school “feather in their cap” their outstanding drama dept?

Darthdad…muhlenberg has two dual bachelors/m.d. programs one with drexel and the other with temple med schools. I would consider muhlenberg an undergrad power house in preparing students for health careers. theater maybe a big draw for many, but muhlenebrg is a great great school…even if you never step foot into a theater in the four years you are a student.

how would a student who is slow to make friends fit into Muhlenberg? D is introverted and tends to not cast a wide social net? Is Muhlenberg a school where social revolves around big parties (not her thing) or smaller more intimate group settings?

To answer your first question: your daughter having no interest in theater won’t be a problem. Yes, it’s big on campus, but no one’s going to force her to participate, nor will people shun her for not being too interested in it. If anything, it can serve as good entertainment for her when she’s bored on a Friday night!

Second question: Every school has a mix of “big parties” and “intimate group settings”. There will be both at Muhlenberg. I feel that the crowd Muhlenberg attracts is extremely diverse in terms of social interests; yes, you’ll get the partiers, but you’ll also get the people who prefer sitting in a friend’s room hanging out (like myself).

I really do think your daughter will be fine in regards to both of your questions. Just as someone who hates sports can still find a niche in a sports-centered school such as Rutgers, a student who isn’t really into theatre can still find a niche in a school that is generally fond of theatre.

I hope I helped!

What grade is your daughter in? Is she a senior?
