Acceptance Thread

Good job epsilon! Hehehe, scary to think that I'll be compared with you.....but then again, there are tons more outstanding students!!

Anyway, I'm checking my e-mail every 30 mins...hahah jk. But I've had my sent in for a week now, and I'm literally annoying the crap out of my counselor (opps) . heheh, so I can't wait till I get the UMID and then like 10 days period until I can call the office to check.

Do they send out admit letters, e-mails? Can you call to find out if you got in? I just want to know...NOW.

check your wolverine access a lot. They send out mass decisions every friday. When your decision is made a "view decision" link will appear on WA. If it says "congratulations" you got it, if it says "a decision will be arriving in the mail" you didn't. You will get a letter either way but WA will let you know at least a few days before a letter arrives. Remember, decisions always come out on fridays, so start checking next week or the week after (10/6, 10/13) for really early decisions. Good luck...trust me- I'm going just as crazy as all of you are!!!

are all these posts regarding the winter semester? If not, limit it to winter semester acceptances or specify that you are talking about fall. I think it's a little early to be discussing the fall. Hopefully we start getting some acceptances this week or next!

I am referring to the Fall 2007 admissions.

djteej83 you are God when it comes to UMich applications...you totally made me feel better. Thanks.

if you get any response in the next month or so won't it almost definitely be an acceptance?

don't they postpone the rejects/defferals?

I think so.

They still haven't multiplexd my stuff (look above). LOL

Fiday morning ladies and gentlemen!!! Lets hear the good news! (or maybe not till this afternoon?)

I didn't see anything new on my status page.

nothing on mine yet either

not to be mean but i don't no where any of you are getting your information. i just had a umich rep @ my school on wednesday and i asked her when acceptances are gonna start coming out and she sed probably during mid to late november. she also said she hasn't even started reviewing applications yet and doesn't plan to until mid to late october. she specifically does the apps for my school and i live 30 mins away from ann arbor. i don't no if location makes much of a difference.

Yeah, I highly doubt any decisions are being made already.

They would loose out on alot of good applicants by admitting people this early.

But I'm worried about their data issues, because they screwed up my app already, and I hope nothing happens again in the future.

I"VE BEEN ACCEPTED.

Jk :( I wish.

If you search for the thread "Stats of Admitted Students" on this forum you will see that the earliest date someone was admitted last year was 10/13. That's where the information is coming from.

Admissions is a two-step process. Readers evaluate each app, but what they give those applicants is a rating--NOT an actual decision.

It's in the second step that a committee of people decide what to do with all the apps at each rating.

Maybe that's why the admissions counselor believes that no decisions will go out until November, because she's a step away from the admit process. I see no reason to believe that this year will be different from any other. If there are apps completed and evaluated in October, then the University can and will begin to make admissions decisions on them. Maybe none of that counselor's apps will be ready, but surely others will be.

maybe its different based on location cuz i know umich has diff reps to handle different areas. i guess wat i meant was that my rep specifically isn't reviewing applications till mid-late october.

Decisions are not going out for awhile. Talked to one of the admissions people. Due to all of their computer difficulties, anyone who has applied thus far is in the same boat, and they have not started early reviews yet.

So my earliest guess would be the first friday of november.

Well last year some people got decisions in late October. :)

Last year they didn't have major computer problems either. LOL lucky us
