man.... its gettn fiesty in here

no one today? makes me want my decision even more. I am almost at the point where I would rather be deferred or rejected than not know.

last time it was saturday

lol, all we can do is just be patient... suspense can be good ;)

suspense blows...im ready to hear! haha

I've yet to read an apology by either SubMachineNips or Epsilon9090 for their racist assumption about the admission of CDS1019.

How were they rascist when they assumed a factor that's taken into account in UMich's holistic review and was not posted by the original poster? That would be like if some poster posted a 3.4 GPA and no other info. You would assume a lot of other factors were taken into account to helpe the applicant and the reality of college admisssions is that URM status is a positive factor. I see nothing racist about their posts. You can't reap the rewards of a system an affirmative action system yet call others racist if they say that URM status helps an applicant with lower stats get into college. It's just illogical.

wow, there haven't been any decisions in a while! my app was complete 5 days ago, so I'm guessing i'll have to wait a while :(. i was hoping for a decision before x-mas but i guess there's no way.

I submitted my app on November 1, but they received everything by third. Then there was a prob with the essay not going through which they received by the 29th. I hope, that does not diminish my chances, because already I am a match at U of mIch. Which isn't a sure thing.

Bravos89, the reality is the ONLY assumption that both of these posters made was that if the stats were low it MUST me because the person was an URM. He was a white male. Why wasn't that never an assumption. The assumption was RACIST. Did you read the book, The Price of Admissions???

lmpw...I'm going to continue this any further here because it is an acceptance thread not one of discussion about admissions criteria. While I do not think that low stats can only be accomodated by URM status, that is one of the POSSIBLE facotrs that can can help applicants with low stats (others are athleters, legacies, ridiculous awards etc...) so I would appreciate if you did not call other racist because they made an possibly valid, but incorrect assumption in this situation.

Calm down. If you want to act all self-righteous, that is fine, but unless I hear that CDS1019 was ****ed off that I assumed that, I really could care less what you think.

Besides, I talked to a kid today with a 36 ACT and 11 AP classes who got in but didn't get any money so far.

You are telling me I'm being racist? Let's try Umich first. The people don't accept the poor ones and give them good money even though they are the ones that deserve it, so don't get all self-righteous with me, because I'll own you in any debate over this.

Don't tempt me.
