Unless the poster was offended, no need to appologize. Epsilon and I were just looking around for answers as to why he was accepted when other, more qualified applicants that have posted here have been deferred.

its really simple, at some schools, a 3.3 is equivalent to a 3.8 at other schools. At the top nyc private schools, many students go to ivy league schools with with gpa's not unlike the previously mentioned.

NYYsun25, did you get any scholarship money along with the acceptance? Thanks, EM

dstark-
I'm only a junior but my good friend was accepted last week around wed or thurs.... im not sure about the online thing....

is there questions that you want me to ask him

I'm sorry. I misread your post. I'm fine.

YO, I just registered here, but I got accepted to engineering about a month ago, I guess in the second wave. So I'll post mah stats:

Female, white (Jewish), OOS (NY), 2100 SAT, 28 ACT, 97/100 GPA, amazing essays, prob. good recs, pretty good ECs but nothing really spectacular.

I always thought I was a shoo-in until I read the stats of the admits on this thread. Holy craP, I didn't realize such geniuses applied here. But I'm cool with that.

Soooo I'm REALLY excited for next year and I can't wait to meet new people. Woot! I am still waiting on a Cornell ED decision, which I'll be notified of on Thursday, but there's no chance in hell I'm getting in so I'll probably be a Wolverine in September. Yay!

no acceptances this week? :(

i guess not michigan is really irking me

For those of you who got accepted and checked through Wolverine Access, did they send you an email first telling you that your decision was available on Wolverine Access or did you have to check WA by yourself and find out through that source?

I checked early in the morning, 8 am, and there was a decision on WA. Later that night, I got an e-mail notification. There was a delay, but they still told me by e-mail as well.

CORRECTION

accepted: engineering

^when was your app completed? and are you instate or OOS?

agentboyscout, I didn't even know my decision was available yet and I didn't check Wolverine Access. I was just casually opening my email and I saw one sent from mich.admissions.2007@umich.edu titled "University of Michigan Admissions Decision."

I wasn't expecting it, and the title of the email didn't indicate the decision, so naturally I freaked out. Here's what it said:

"On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students at the University of Michigan, it is my distinct pleasure to be the first to tell you that you have been admitted to the University of Michigan College of Engineering for Fall 2007. You are a truly outstanding student, and we look forward to having you contribute to our long-standing tradition of excellence," and some other crapolies.
