acceptance to ucla

hi...

well this is my first time posting in this message board but just by looking at this site has really caught my eye. i must say...very interesting topics that i have seen!! VERY impressive!

but in other words...i want to know EXACTLY...what are the MAJOR factors to get accepted to UCLA? i really need some SPECIFIC advice considering...

what is a decent gpa to get in? noting that even if you're not a valedictorian

also, what is a good SAT score for acceptance?

how many APs should i take that you would HIGHLY recommend?

is it beneficial to take summer classes over at a city college while in high school?

i know there are more recommendations and advice but i need the help as much as possible. PLEASE give me as much as many details that you know for the acceptance for UCLA. i would very much appreciate it! and it would definitely mean a lot!

thanks!

oh and by the way...lets just say i did VERY well in freshman year but sophmore is well, average, do you think UCLA will accept it if i try to improve once again in junior year?

lilaikeangel67:

A decent GPA to get in is 4.25 weighted, 3.85 unweighted. (most important)
A good SAT I score for acceptance is 2100.
A good SAT II score for acceptance is 720/720.
A good number of AP courses you should take is 5.
Yes, it is beneficial to take summer classes at a city college (least important).

However, your extra-curricular depth and essay quality will nullify all of the above if they're way below average... it also helps to be a California resident and not apply for an impacted major (e.g. Engineering). Also, UCLA doesn't care about your freshman year, so yes, you will have to make up for it in your junior year.
