Acceptance Wait Time

Has Tulane been informing people in regular decision on a rolling acceptance type deal or is it all wait until April 15? If so, about how long is the wait time between your app being complete and notification?

they have ed, ea, and regular... if you turned in your stuff before nov. 15 they automatically switch you to ea... thats what they did for me... so i found out in december...

yeah I'm regular decision though

anyone know?

like 3 weeeks wait time top.

Hmm I think I should have found out by now because I applied by Jan. 15th with the Personal Application, which says I'd find out in 4 weeks. My status page still hasn't been updated.

I am in the same boat as you. I called them a couple weeks after applying and was told that I'd find out along with the other regular decision applicants.

In April?! That doesn't really seem fair if they promised we'd find out in 4 weeks. But my friend also applied the same time as me (also with the Personal App) and he just found out last week. Weird. =/

i wish they had kept to their 4 weeks thing! i want to know before the end of march so i can visit over spring break, but i'm not gaurenteed to hear until after it's over.

I think the thing with the four weeks not being met has a lot to with the increase in apps... i read somewhere else that last year was like 20,000 something and this year its over 30 so from sheer volume it'll probably take longer... sorry y'all have to wait!

I just called the admissions office. They said decisions would likely be made within a month! That's good news, because my spring break is the last week of march and i want to visit then if i get in.

my status was just updated today. it says:

Due to an unprecedented number of applications this year, we have not been able to render a final decision for you yet.

Your application is one of those awaiting final review by the admission committee.

You will receive communication from our office as soon as an update is available.

did anyone else get this?

yep, I got the same thing. I hope we find out soon.

Well, my online status still says that, but I just got an email saying that they had more applications than ever before this year, and I'm formally invited to be on the waitlist for Fall 2008 if I would like. =/ I'm already into one of my top schools, so I'm not sure I'll stay on the waitlist. Good luck to everyone else.

i just got waitlisted too! tulane is my 3rd choice after occidental and umiami, but i thought i had a better chance of getting in at tulane than either one of those. im pretty bummed.

I'm so bummed out...I got waitlisted for Tulane, and I'm just really really worried that I didn't get into any of the other universities that I applied to, since Tulane was supposed to be the easiest one to get into x.x

I wouldn't worry. I think it was just a lot harder to get into Tulane this year, especially if you didn't apply early, because they had so many more applications. Tulane probably sent out the Personal Application to try to increase their number of apps after Hurricane Katrina, but I know that A LOT of people who didn't even know about Tulane before applied from my school this year just because of that and no app fee, so Tulane just ended up in over their head with apps.

I still haven't heard anything. Wonder what that means. Geeze I'm getting nervous. Tulane is my first choice. Those of you who were waitlisted, what were your stats?
Thanks a bunch!

I got rejected which is alright, i just visited 2 schools that i loved and have been accepted to one of them

1860 sat's
tons of community service
2 sport varsity athlete
3.2 unweighted avg at a private school

this thread is making me really nervous! who DID get accepted. I'm just thinking, they haven't processed my mid year report yet. (my semester ended close to the latest in the nation) so maybe that's why i haven't heard? they said they normally don't make decisons without it.
