Acceptance without SAT II Scores?

I plan on submitting only my ACT score (33) for regular decision review. I scored a 2100 on the SAT I and 770 on Math Level 2/ 650 on Spanish...I had a serious hiccup on the Spanish test, obviously. The problem is that my Spanish teacher is writing one of my recommendations, and I am undoubtedly one of the best spanish students he has seen in his career--so it would be odd to see a 650 SAT II score in that subject.

My question is: Will my chances of admission be diminished by only sending my ACT score...even if the SAT IIs are only "strongly recommended"?

take the spanish again. if u dont get a high score on the sat2 spanish, its hard to take your spanish teacher's rec seriously.

probably, "strongly recommended" seriously equals "required"

since it's RD, you can still take Spanish again...

Yes, your chances will be diminished without SAT IIs. 650 on a language test is not bad at all - those are hard because the native speakers take them, and drive up the curve. Your score will even satisfy Stanford foreign lang requirement:
http://language.stanford.edu/requirement/
But if there is any other subject where you could score higher, you should probably do it, just to a have higher number on your app. It will not make or break you app either way.

What about if I got a 530 SAT II French, because I only had 2 years when I took it (I have 2 other SAT IIs, so it won't be counted) but my French teacher wrote my rec? WIll they take his rec less seriously?

Do you have to send in SAT IIs separately? Or is it all on your score reports when you send an SAT record/full report thingy?

Hmm...the problem is that I can only retake the Spanish test (and when I do, I expect 740+) on the December 3rd test date. Will Stanford get my score in time, even if I use the rush-scoring service?

Agh! I've been so stressed out lately. Basically, Stanford is my dream school, but I don't feel I've got the goods to get in. Columbia U is probably second on my list, which I feel equally uncomfortable about. I tell myself to be realistic, but everyone seems to convince me that I have a "shot" at getting accepted (probably a better chance at Columbia.) So I figured, since I'm not 100% set on Pomona, I'd apply regular decision to all of my schools (Stanford, Columbia, Pomona, Swarthmore, U Chicago). University of Michigan is my safety.

Could you guys evaluate my chances? I know it's a "crap-shoot", but I just want to know if there's a decent chance that I can get into Stanford or Columbia. I feel semi-confident about Pomona and Swarthmore, considering I'd be recruited for golf at both schools...

Any comments would be very much appreciated!!!

"Do you have to send in SAT IIs separately? Or is it all on your score reports when you send an SAT record/full report thingy?"

I don't think you have to send it again. I just received my SAT score report (for October SAT II) today and it had all both my SAT I and II scores, so I think colleges will get the same type of report.

TSA, I think you have a decent shot (for RD, that's around 13%), because all your EC's and test scores seem average. Just make sure you show your passion in your essays.

TSA, you'll be a very competitive applicant to all of your schools. December scores will get to Stanford on time even without rushing, I think, but you should probably call the admissions and ask. Your interests and activities do make you stand out, so your chances are way above 13%. That said, you should have some back-up plan. Luckily for you, you are in-state for UMich...
