acceptance!

here might be some hope for those of you who are still waiting, i hope this doesn't discourage you!

i got accepted with a 3.8 gpa from in-state. i had a 1220 on the sat. i took ap psychology last year and got a 4, this year i'm taking biology, calculus ab, microeconomics, and government. i also do joint enrollment for english at a local community college. i am an officer in key club work as an intern at emory eastside, have a good amount of volunteering and another internship at northlake medical...

hope everyone gets in who wants to!

omg...how is that hope...did you NOT expect to get in?

ugh...

lol bluthunder

youre a bastard. and i seriously think u said that to mock people. u knew u were gonna get in. and alot of people dont have as good of experience as you do.

trust me, no mocking was being done... no ididnt no iwas going to get in

For the University of Georgia (based on USNEWS.COM):

Average high school GPA: 3.7
SAT I scores (25/75 percentile):
Verbal: 560 – 660
Math: 570 – 660
Combined: 1130 – 1320

In other words melosyracuse makes a legitmate point.

OK, cut dani a break. There's an aweful lot of hype out there about how hard UGA is to get in and about how random the admissions process is. (We've all heard horror stories about slackers getting in and over-achievers getting deferred). So even qualified people get paranoid. Dani may be a bit of a geek, but I don't think he or she was trying to dis anybody.

{{YAWN}} Is this thread over yet? :p

although he has a high gpa ithink 4.0, my cousin (asian) got in with a 1050 sat 2 years ago. I also know a friend who got in last year with a 1130 last year with a 3.7 gpa. So yea dont worry too much guyz....

UGA is so friggin random lol...I don't know what to think anymore...it's in God's hands

Praise thy god - UGA admissions officer.

lmao @ ryan. and elizabeth, dani doesnt seem like that much of a geek to me. bluthunder what school do u go to???

ryan whut school do YOU go to???

Redan......

i KNEW u went to redan when u saw your name. i figured either redan or stephenson.

Im going to be checking the damn site every chance I get now. Ill probably be OCD about it until I get a descision. I have a high SAT (1340, 2010) but my GPA is in the mid 3s. I think I have a 50/50 shot at it.

I wonder if there is an order to all these early RD acceptances (before April 1st): Like alphabetical, Stats, race/minority, essays, or maybe just the order of the admission officers?? If you don't get yours till April 1st, does that mean you going to be denied?? hmm...

I don't think there is ANY set order. However, my theory is that UGA creates a heirarchy of either standardized test scores or GPA and they work their way from top to bottom. The top being best scores/GPAs, meaning less emphasis on secondary material. That's just my theory. All of my friends who have been accepted have awesome GPA's, test scores. The ones yet to hear back have mediocre stats.

Just my two cents.

UGAdawg, I have a middle 3.something GPA and a similar SAT score and I got in 17 February. I'm pretty sure you'll get in unless your essays or ECs aren't up to scratch. Your stats are fine!

Thats really nice to hear. Thanks for the encouragement!
