<p>Yes you can accept one while being on WL of another. If you do get off the WL and should you decide to go there, you would lose the deposit made to the first college. My advise is to hold on to the acceptance as long as you can or as close to May 1 as possible. May 1 or what ever date is the deadline for acceptance and deposit is applicable in your case.</p>
<p>Yes, colleges know that waitlist decisions are out only after May.
You should definitely send in your deposit to the college that accepted your D (princeton ?)
and she can chose to remain in the waitlist of another college. If she does get off the waitlist, she can withdraw (not sure if she will lose her deposit)…that may be small change anyway relatively speaking. Where is she waitlisted at? Why would you not chose princeton, unless it is harvard or stanford ;)</p>
<p>She is waitlisted at Columbia, so was not sure what I needed to do with it. Will accept Princeton after the Preview weekend.</p>
