Ok - we checked admission status on the Otterbein website with ID# and it appears to say accepted for the MT program. Not sure if I’m looking at that right. I’m too impatient to wait for the letter, so I’m trying to figure it out on my own! Has anybody else looked and found MT admission evidence there?? I know the letters go out soon.

MTmomma: I can tell you that we have not yet met to choose the class. We'll do that later this week. Our administrative assistant will start generating the letters on Friday, and I'll check them and sign them next Thursday when my wife and I get back from my daughter-in-law's baby shower. (We're very happy. She's due in May.) I know that waiting is hard, but we'll get the information to you as quickly as we can. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Dr. John.
Congrats on the grandchild on the way!

A girl in my D's class said that she and another girl got phone calls from Otterbein on Friday saying that they have been accepted into the MT program.

Well, that sucks.

Remember, they only take 4 guys and 4 girls, the least of any school I have heard of. When you look at the stats of #s applying and #s accepted, I believe the admittance rate is about 2.5%. CMU is about 1%, less if you are a girl.

So, I assume this means if you did not hear Friday then you should expect a letter sometime next week with the rejection? Does this cover BFA and BA also?

Based on what DoctorJohn wrote above, that doesn't seem likely. UNLESS, he changed his mind and made calls instead of sent letters. I hope not. That means my S is out! Sniff.

There was an acceptance to Otterbein posted on the MT Acceptance Thread on 3/19.

Thanks for the info. I went back to the 19th and did see it. Someone must have copied and pasted the wrong list. Hopefully, they will be added back so it is accurate. Congrats to those who got in!

If you believe facebook, 3 girls joined the Otterbein Class of 2013. The boys seem to be slower to sign up - I think it has one guy. Maybe they are calling them after the girls. Do not forget, they line up a one on one waitlist right behind the acceptances, and for sure one of them has been accepted in several places and her mom posts on this site all the time. (Hint - if you are trying to stay anonymous, do not use your child's name in your log in name.) She can only go to one school. So, a note to those who will be turning down a school that utilizes a wait list, be kind and let the school you will NOT attend know ASAP so another student has the chance to get excited about an offer of acceptance. The CC MT threads are breaking my heart. And so many of you have such great attitudes!! You are all to be commended for going through this process. I never could.

I wound up calling Otterbein on Monday since there was conflicting information and was told letters went out that day (yeatersay). I was informed my son was on the short list but did not make the final cut. It was a blessing in disguise because I really wanted him to accept NYC. My S has some friends that go to Otterbein and he felt it was his #1 pick. He was very crushed since they gave him ALL the "buying signs". We spoke for two hours about his options and after weighing all the information, his decision was NYC. THEN I told him about Otterbein. That way, he decided instead of Otterbein deciding for him. It was a good thing and he is REALLY excited!! That's called fate! Everyone winds up where they belong in one way or another.

I got my acceptance call last Thursday. We were asked not to post until we received our letters as a courtesy to everyone. I got my letter today.

Congratulations, Evan! It was nice that you respected their wishes about not posting until the letters arrived. Good luck with your decision on where to go! Have you decided, yet?

Thank you!! I'm still in the process of deciding. I've been accepted in a few schools and have a few more to hear from. So, currently I'm visiting each school and sitting in on classes. It's going to be a very hard decision...but Otterbein is way up there!

congrats, evanzimm!!

has anyone else received their letters? acceptances or otherwise?

an accept and scholarship for the dance minor but not the MT major. My daughter will pick one of her MT acceptances but is nice that it wasn't a total reject. Best wishes to those who go.

Congratulations to those accepted! What a fabulous accomplishment to be among the 8 selected out of so many. I know some of you have to decide between several wonderful schools, and are probably waiting on more information to be able to decide.
As the mom of one on the waitlist, I just ask that if you decide to go somewhere else, PLEASE let the Otterbein people know ASAP. Thanks and best wishes for successful MT careers!

I also got accepted into the dance minor program with a scholarship, and am thinking about accepting the offer because I really like Otterbein and I would still be able to audition for shows... We'll see! Congrats to everyone accepted!
