Acceptances are beginning!!

so you cant find out from in the system. I went in and looked and I could have sent my admission deposit. But I have not received anything???

Does this make sense?

hghschjunior - where on the admissions status do you see where you can make the deposit??

there is a link where you can go in and make your admission deposit…I dont really know if this means anything…but I could do it if I wanted to …

I don’t see that option under any of my son’s tabs. What tab is it under?

I think it’s good news for you though.

Okay so a girl at my school got accepted into the nursing program at Pitt. Perhaps they are doing it by program first? I applied over the summer into the premed program and haven’t heard anything yet. (It’s my safety school)

I received an email from Pitt yesterday saying that they liked my essay. How long do you think I’ll be receiving my decision (I applied early Sept)???

I don’t post much here, but I read CC religiously! To add a data point for all those anxiously waiting - My D got her acceptance letter today. She’s instate, applied at a mid-July overnight, wrote an essay, submitted two (I think) LORs, and has an ACT score of 35 (don’t remember the breakdown). Her weighted GPA is 4.17, and I have no idea what her unweighted is. She didn’t get one of those emails about her essay, so don’t worry if you don’t get one.

The letter stated her UHC eligibility and that she’d be reviewed for scholarships. Since it seems they are stingy with instate scholarships, I’m not holding my breath.

It’s been harder to wait than I expected. Rolling is good in that you hear sooner, but frustrating since you don’t know WHEN you’ll hear.

Congrats Podvig on your D’s acceptance! What a relief it must be to hear! Now my question, do you think it is possible that UHC’s and Out of States are reviewed first? My S has 1250+ (but lower than UHC requirements) on his SAT’s, a GPA between 3.8-4.0 UW (depending on whether 93% is considered an “A” by Pitt’s admissions) and is in the top of his class but he is also in-state. He applied in early Sept. and hasn’t heard anything. So I’m wondering if there is a ranking that determines what order they review?! Just a thought.

Podvigs: Even in-state I think your daughter’s 35 ACT will help a lot for scholarship consideration. Congrats and good luck!

DS accepted into UPITT also honors program.

Hey guys just an update… I got my acceptance letter today! Accepted from instate, into the premed program!

Maybe, but I’m guessing it’s by date of application. The opportunity to apply over the summer during the overnights was very attractive, what with the waiving of the fee, so lots of people did then, I think. D was able to get all her LORs and the transcript sent in over the summer, so her app was totally complete in August. Hang tight; I bet you’ll hear soon!

Thanks for the good wishes, aglages. I’d love for her to get a scholarship, but I haven’t counted on it in the financial scenarios I’ve been running in my brain at night when I can’t sleep. :)

Congrats, kleibo and goldendomer11!

Podvigs: I agree – the 35 ACT score should merit a scholarship – crossing my fingers for you :)

Just got into nursing today!!! :)

^^^
Congrats shopsgal417! Pitt has a fantastic nursing program.

shopsgal417 congrats! do you mind me asking your stats?

Yay! My D received her acceptance letter to the College of Arts and Sciences today! Her letter is dated Oct. 11 and her application was complete on Sep. 24. Good luck to everyone and I hope that you hear soon!

My daughter got her acceptance letter today too! Must be a lucky day! She was accepted to conditional Pharmacy program and honors college. You cannot miss the big white envelope with “Congratulations!” written on it. Her application was complete by Sept 14th (we mailed it the week prior) and the acceptance letter is dated Oct 6th. Now we just have our fingers crossed for scholarship $$! Good luck to the rest who are waiting!!!

Both my daughters received their acceptance letters yesterday. They both applied for the nursing program and had sent in their applications in at the end of August, their application was complete by the 15th of September. Can’t wait to tell them when they get home today!

Well, I hope that I get one today. I got a letter from them earlier giving me my user id and telling me that they had my application. That letter was dated 9/27/11.
