Another acceptance....Yeah!

too bad i lost my login...)-:

i got a big envelope in the mail, and didnt even send them the prose they wanted. i love this life.

Congratulations to the acceptees. I was rejected.

how do u know if u got rejected? was it written? bcos i logged into my hamilton, and it says "no annoucements"....... is that a bad sign?? someone please help me....

My DD was waitlisted with what I believe were pretty strong qualifications for Hamilton - however, she applied for financial aid, and Hamilton is not need-blind. Anyone else waitlisted who applied for financial aid?

I applied for finaid and my family contribution was $1000. I was waitlisted too. However, I think there would have been some reasons that make the adcoms like me less than others who are accepted. kmh2078, will your daughter push the waitlist? Do you have any plans yet ?:)
Talktome: if the page said No annoucement then it's very likely that you've been waitlisted or rejected. The accepteds got a big Congratulations and several attractive links in their home MyHamilton page. Sorry :(

Not sure she'll push the waitlist. She's in at Davidson and waiting to hear from some other higher choice - and need-blind - schools (Middlebury, Northwestern, Wake Forest, William and Mary and a couple of reach Ivies). Will probably wait to see what kind of package she gets from Davidson and others, all of whom meet 100% of demonstrated financial need. So, even though she really liked Hamilton and felt she'd be very happy there, it probably won't be competitive enough if she's admitted off the waitlist.

I also was waitlisted and my counselor told me I was more than qualified Last yr, 8 out of 11 people from my school got in, most w/much lower stats. I hate that Hamilton is not need blind. My dad wrote a special letter to them detailing our expenses and need for aid, so I am 99% sure this played against me, which just plain sucks, so you guys aren't alone.

well turns out the reason why nothing appeared on the page was because they hadnt posted all their decisions yet. But i got a nice surprise when I saw that I was accepted! I never thought I would.
I hope that all the wait-listies will have as nice a surprise as I did. I became really cynical... but in the end this acceptance helped me realise that there is such a thing as 'hope' in this year's horrible, mind torturing college process... I wish the best of luck to everyone. :)
