I had a 26 ACT, was top 16% and I am in. My EC's, essays, recs, and stuff were amazing though. Super super extreme competition here too.

Congratulations everyone. My daughter still has not heard so I guess she won't hear until after the holidays (everything was sent in during November so not sure what the delay is). SLMOM, how did you check on-line? My son just finished his first semester and did very well. He is not one to share a lot of information, but we haven't heard any complaints, so I view that as a good sign. It seems as though the work was challenging, but there is a lot of help available if needed.

hey!

I applied to Rensselaer with Candidate's choice on Nov 28th. However, I havent received a decision yet. Does that mean there is a problem?

palermo... to check on line I went to

https://apply.rpi.edu/apply/

It was a combination of her e-mail and birthdate.

It took them a long time to post all of her requirements but once everything was posted it was only 10 days. When you log on you can see a checklist of requirements... maybe that'll give you a clue as to how much longer it'll be. Good Luck.

When does the 28 days for Admission start? All of my materials were in by November 18th but my 1st term grades were received by RPI on December 12th. So do the 28 days start from the Nov. 18th or Dec. 12th?

It would start from December 12th.

They just called me!!!I'm in!!!

My son just received his acceptance letter in today's mail.

Basic Stats:

SAT I: Math 750, CR 650, W 700

SAT II: Math IC 780, Physics 800

GPA: 4.21875

Class Rank: 15/383

I just got in. :)

SAT I - M 720 V 610 W 610 (1940)
SAT II - 710 MII 690 Chem

International Student - GPA probably around 3.7

Heck, it sound like EVERYONE here was admitted. Doesn't seem too discriminating to me. So, yeah my senior got in too...but the big question is...what will the money look like. Seems like they give a decent amount of aid but the tuition is EXPENSIVE...so, I can't say we're particularly excited.

If money is the deciding factor, RPI will match an offer from another school that they consider to be a peer institution. For example, if CMU was giving you $25K a year and RPI was only offering $15K a year, let them know and they will match it.

Jack_Riley: When did your daughter hear? My daughter applied with the Candidates Choice App. and has still not received anything from RPI. Did the scholarship letter come with the acceptance? Thanks

No, they came separate...first the acceptance...then the scholarship letter. We just heard the scholarship info this week.

Jack_Riley, if you look at the stats of the admitted students, you'll see that they're all quite stellar. The admission rates seem high but the application pool is self-selecting.

Ive been offered $16.5k a year from Drexel. Do you think RPI would match that? Ive already been accepted. BTW I'm an international student.

Does anyone know when RPI makes the grant awards? Do they give this with the final financial aid package after you've submitted the FAFSA? The merit aid isn't going to be enough.

Yeahh! I got accepted on New Years! Great wayy to start 2007! Congrats to everyone else!

@ inshallah -- dude, could you please inform me after you receive your scholarship info because I really can't attend an university in the US without aid and I'm really interested in RPI. Thanks a lot!

I just checked mine online and got in! I'm excited, but still waiting for any scholarships and fin-aid, thats really gonna determine my attendance.

Here's some basic stats:

does anyone know if thats true? i sure hope not
