Snail mail...I'm an Int'l as well :(

T-Shirt for acceptance!? Man I never got a care package upon acceptance. I applied three years too early! Congrats!

RPIyankees, well not to make you even more jealous, but they even tossed in a coupon for a free Ben and Jerry's ice cream cone. But my son would have to come to the student union to redeem it. We live about 4 hours away!

I am assuming you attend RPI now? How do you like it? My son is interested in either biomedical or chemical engineering. He is waiting for decisions from some other engineering schools but he really has a good feeling about RPI already.

Gotta love the Ben and Jerry's. It is very dangerous walking past it everyday on my way to class. I like it here. I am a management major. I never regret my decision, its very easy to like it here. Biggest thing I can say is its all about the feeling. When I visited I saw myself here and that's the biggest selling point. Good luck with the rest of the process!

RPIyankees, you know that's what my son said. "I can picture myself being very comfortable there." We visited campus last February and he still has that feeling about things. Thanks for your response. Now go get a Ben and Jerry's!

thanks jdasmom! i hope i do get a grant or anything that can help us
i talked to a financial aid counselor who came to my school and based on our income she said i wont get any federal aid =o( bummer

my EFC is 40,000 hehe..i dont know if that will help me or not

For you folks who are checking your application status online , HOW DOES ONE GET THEIR PASSWORD to log onto https://apply.rpi.edu/account ?

My S can't remember the email address he used on his application too !

ALSO for those folks who are hearing online now about their status , did you send your application after January 1st 2007 ??

^ I think that somehow a password was assigned, and then you immediately change it. I bet it came through email, because I don't see anything in a letter form in my son's RPI stuff.

S accessed his Application Status page finally and it showed that even though he mailed it on Jan. 5th , it was not received until Jan 20th !

Question I have is it shows OFFICIAL TEST SCORES not processed or received.

We never sent them from College Board . I assumed they would look at the test scores on his high school transcript .

Should I order test scores from College Board & send to RPI ?

Easydoesitmom, definitely have College Board send a score report to RPI. Most colleges won't consider scores official unless they are sent directly to them by College Board. My son's high school discontinued putting them on the transcripts for this reason.

89.0 GPA unweighted (hardest courses)

Musician/theater

2140 SAT
Chem SAT 710
Math 2 SAT 770

RPI gave me $10,000 that I can get every year and $5000 for FAFSA. I might go. I don't know yet.

i got in too. yay! who's going to the weekend thing?

what's the weekend thing?

by the weekend thing i meant the accepted students celebration. i also later realized that it's not a weekend but a day. oops sorry.

when is this day?

april 14th

I wouldn't worry too much if it says that they haven't received your stuff yet because they apparently received 2ce the apps this year than they saw 2 years ago (over 10,000 i think!!). This means 2 things: 1.They are going to be more selective than ever, 2. They are having a tough time processing all of this stuff and it'll take a while before your app is complete. Don't worry!

btw, I just got my pseudo-final award letter and it looks as though RPI may just be somewhat affordable after all (23k in scholarships/grants is always nice). I'm definitely excited that RPI is a serious option, but now that i got the small envelope from Olin it looks like where my school is going to be almost entirely dependent on who gives me the most money. It may seem like I'm a mercenary, but im out of my top choice and cant afford much.

I'm on my friends account:

Accepted on 12/28 and found out about my full ride NROTC scholarship the other day... I'm pretty stoked - btw, i live in North Carolina

Anyone else accpeted w/ NROTC???

-Michael

I was looking into ROTC programs, but I'm not sure I want my future that tightly set at this point in my life. As in, I'm not sure a military career would have been for me.

jdasmom - THANKS , BIG THANKS for the tip on sending those college scores . Even though they did not notify us to send them , I had college board send them and it seem that everything fell into place and his application went on to review . It's funny because teh other colleges ( State ) & NYU did not request them in the process but everyone is different.
