Has any received their acceptances yet? Friends of mine are announcing that they’ve been accepted to other CSUs like SFSU and Fresno; I didn’t know that CSUs accepted people so early.

So who here (that applied regular decision) has been accepted so far?

Schools like SFSU and Fresno have considerably lower stat averages compared to Cal Poly. It is likely your friends had stats that well exceeded the stat averages of those schools, which is why they got accepted already.

It happened with me too; I got accepted to CSU San Bernardino already.

RD results won’t be in until starting in February.

If you have good grades, a good ranking at your High School, and good SAT scores… colleges will accept those apps right away. They cherry pick the best students. It’s a no-brainer for them.

Yesterday and today my son has received acceptance from UC Davis and CSU Chico in mechanical engineering and mechatronic engineering, respectively.

Think of it from the College’s point of view… if they can get nothing but 4.0 students to come to their school… then they will be able to raise their school’s overall student GPA… allowing them promote their school as the school to enroll in. Just like Cal Poly and UC Berkeley, for example.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks! It looks like I’ll have to wait until February; my OOS schools are scheduled to release my decisions around that time, too.

& @VentureMan, wow, that’s quick for a UC. Was your son ELC?
