<p>Urgh yeah. When I read that I was just like, "Credentials? Credentials?! They're interested in just my credentials?" Then I figured, "Yeah whatever, they're interested in everyone's credentials." Oh well, over and done with. At least I know I am going to college haha.</p>

I'm from Bulgaria and have been accepted to F&M. I see it's very high in the ranks, but in many college discussions and forums I looked at, there were negative reviews. And for example about Clark Unievrsity, which is about two times worse ranked, I have read only positive comments.
Isn't that strange? I don't have the chance to visit colleges, and from such a big distance the most reliable turn to be the ranks.
What do ya think about all that? What and who shall I trust?</p>

<p>veselcheto - did your email subject say: "CONGRATULATIONS!!" or anything that made it obvious you were accepted? Or did you have to open the email to find out if you were accepted or not?</p>
<p>the first e-mail was in the subject: "Franklin & Marshall College decision" and a few days later I received email about financial aid saying in the subject "F&M award"</p>

<p>I received an acceptance letter today in the mail. It came in a big envelope. It was dated March 23, today is the 25th. I live about four hours away in Maryland.</p>
<p>I could care less. I thought it was a safety but didnt take their advice when they told me I should visit the campus. "We consider visitng the campus to be an essential part of the admissions process." So w/e. I already got into some med progams. But it hurts my feelings that someone ranked as low as F & M could do that. Here's my stats. </p>
<p>SAT: 1500, SAT IIs: 800 math 2c, 740 spanish, 700 writing
Rank: about 2 or 3 out of 65 at really competitive school
GPA: 97</p>

I(an intl) was accepted with 26k scholarship and had only SAT1 - 1380 and toefl....i guess it's a matter of luck.
But why do you think F&M is low-ranked? - it's 38th according to "U.S. News". I'm so sorry i'm not able to visit, because there are very controversial opinions about this college, and I feel one must see it and judge for themselves.</p>

<p>i got in, but i think the deciding thing was that i visited. my mom was concerned that i didn't have a strong safety school, so we trekked out there. but yeah, fandm is kinda different with the whole admissions thing...i think they're really sensitive to their ranking in us news, so they don't wanna accept ppl who they think are probably using their school as a safety. but whatever.</p>
