No, the scholarship letter comes separately. I received a Chancellor’s scholarship and it arrived a couple of weeks after my acceptance letter. Congrats guys! My brother is a junior at CU and LOVES it!

ok, cool. i know this isnt really the right thread to ask this, but im an out of state student with a 3.9 GPA, 1470/1600 SAT, captain of the crew team, and a summer intern for the past 2 years, camp counselor for 2 years before that… any chance that I might get the chancellor or presidential scholarship? I really want to go to boulder but its expensive for out of state… thanks

ibanezplayer: yeah i’d think you should get the presidential

My son’s stats - received Chancellor’s scholarship ($15k) and just accepted to Norlin Scholars. ($12k) He was accepted to the Leeds School of Business.
ACT 31
SAT 1980
GPA 3.89
Out of state

I know the out-of-state tuition is high. My older son is a junior at CU and he receives NO scholarship money.

SDMOM56: Is your sons’s GPA OF 3.89 unweighted or weighted? My son has GPA unweighted of 4.0, in top four percent of his class (10/400) SAT 1890 but ACT 31…out of state… Haven’t heard anything yet about scholarships but hoping for something. He did not apply for Norlin Scholars, so we will not be getting that…We really need something to help as you are right, it is expensive…Your older son loves CU? Tell me it is worth the money! My son has it as his first choice and he just got admitted to UCLA but we live in LA and that school is too close to home. So he will probably turn down that acceptance.

Well if this helps

I got Chancellor($15k)

with only a 3.55 UW GPA (with special circumstances)

and a 1560(M+V)

Above Avg. ec’s

good luck

Why is it taking so goddamn long?
I believe Im overly qualified for CU and I applied right before the nonbinding ED deadline, and I was deferred?
3.54 GPA 1710 SAT 24 ACT…
I kinda find this insulting and nerve racking :X

rriparetti, sorry for your frustration. One of the holdups with your app is that your 24 ACT puts you on the lower end of those accepted, looking at the stats for the middle 50% of the Fall 2009 Freshman class. Hence, the deferral. Is your SAT score that you posted inclusive of the writing portion? The middle 50% of this year’s fall class for the College of Arts and Sciences (this is the lowest average range) had scores of 1090 - 1280 for the critical reading and math portions. If you fit within that parameter, you stand a decent change of getting in. Good luck!!

how many deferred people typically get accepted on april 1st?

To all of you who were deferred – My D was accepted March 15. She applied in January. Stats: 3.3 GPA, 26 ACT. While her GPA is low, she does have sufficiently more MAPS credits than the university minimum. She received a letter in February informing her a decision would be made April 1, or sooner. So, hang in there. Yes. It is very nerve racking! She accepted admission at another university in February, so she declined CU’s offer. I believe the Regents will vote March 29, on a tuition increase: 9% in state and 5% (D is oos) out of state. This may be a deciding factor for a lot of applicants. Best of luck to all of you.

i got into the engineering school and will be attending this fall

my stats are 3.88 gpa weight (i think around 3.7 is my unweighted maybe?), 1720 sat, 26 sat, national honors society president, 2-3 ap classes my senior year (i’m dropping chem after break with a withdrawal pass so hopefully they will not take away my acceptance because of it)

i have another friend who got into engineering also who got a 21 on his act, then had an act tutor, retook the act and got a 31. i don’t know his other stats but i’m pretty sure he’s only taking mainly regular classes maybe some honors?

but then another one of my friends got rejected from the engineering school but into the arts and sciences, so he is planning on going into something in that school or going undecided and then transferring to the engineering school

hope that helps

I just checked MyCUBoulder and read this:
A decision has been made. A letter with specifics is being mailed to you.

what do you think this implies?

My son just got that message too. Pretty cryptic.

^ Unfortunately, it may be a deferral or rejection notice. I don’t won’t to ruin your hopes, but accepted students are notified on MYCU Boulder. The first time I was allowed onto my portal, after it was fixed, the headline on the front page congratulated me on my acceptance. If you haven’t seen that, I don’t know how well your chances are of getting in.

My D just heard from a classmate who was admitted yesterday. She has a 2.8 GPA and her ACT score was 23. No AP courses and insufficient MAPS credits. BTW, she is OOS. Go figure.

I got in April 1. I’m still undecided (it’s either the CAP or UC-B; UT Austin is my #1 but I would have to go to UTSA for a year). I have a weighted GPA of 4.1, SAT of 1810, 17 hours accumulated (AP exams; 5 Span Lang, 4 US hist and Eng Lang and Comp). Oh I’m OOST. Tuition will cost a boatload.

hey i’ve been wait listed and this is really where i want to go to school next year, how many people get accepted off the wait list at colorado/what would improve my chances of getting in?

i emailed an admissions officer a few days before i got wait listed saying cu boulder was where i wanted to go.

Well figure I’d update, I’ve been awfully busy with this college crap at this point. Basically, Mrs. Malone said that it wouldn’t be possible to review me based upon the applicants they got in the regular decision. So I’m going to try to transfer into that school after a year locally for me. However, I am going to call tomorrow to ask about the business school because I figured out that my major is in the business school instead of engineering (long story behind that one). I’ll try to remember to keep you guys updated still.
