theyre missing my transcript… ■■■

Holy Crap Peetrev! What are they willing to do about it??? I am still being “processed”. I am so sick of that message!!!

Rousse: It’ll be interesting. I applied to Cal, UCLA, UCSB, UCLA, UCSD, CU and Michigan. I’m also looking to play college lacrosse so I got a little bump in admissions for all those schools especially Cal, UCSB, Michigan and CU. I originally got deferred from Michigan but the coach says I still have a very good shot at getting in so we’ll see! I go to Salisbury up in CT, it’s a great boarding school I love it!. I really don’t know what school I’ll chose as of now, I just want to hear back from all of them haha.
But of course I’ve heard of Dumont! Not to far from there at all! However, I will say that I’m happy to finally leave NJ I’ve been here waaaay to long haha. Thank you for all your kind words and I really wish your child all the best!

Peetrav: Call them up again and give them your Social Sec. number. CU is having lots of problems with their systems and this same issue happened to me. Worst case scenario is that they disallow you from applying ED and put you in the RD pool. Just have your school resend them. You’ll be fine.

yeah im going to go to my guidance counselor tomorrow and call CU to make sure they really do not have my transcript. and then ill send it if they dont. hopefully it wont take forever to get an admissions decision.

btw: were all from NJ haha, im from monmouth county. near red bank, if you know where that is.

clk22: Well, good luck to you with all those schools. My son applied to Arizona State (admitted, safety school), UCLA, Berkeley, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Davis. However, even if he gets into Berkeley, will probably not go as they do not have aerospace engineering. Doesn’t really want to attend Davis, and Cal Poly would be ok but he really wants a school that has Division 1 football. UCLA is too close to home, only about 10 miles, so even if he gets in, he won’t go probably. So CU is it for him. Besides, CU has better aerospace engineering dept than any of those schools, including UCLA.
You sound like you have a lot of excellent opportunities. Very hard to get into UC schools especially out of state, so you must have excellent stats. UC’s are great, but with the state budge the way it is, and the prices going up every year, they have not become a good value, even for in-state students. Every semester it seems the tuition is going up 30 percent or so…
I agree about NJ… by the way, nice place to be raised, time to get out when you grow up and go to college and work…I have lived in California since I graduated college and have never looked back…What is your major, then? Good luck to you,…

@Lizzle
I’m going to call the rep for NJ (Katherine Malone) and say how it’s my top choice and if I can send my 1st semester grades or if there’s a waiting list or anything because if I got into the engineering school I would enroll immediately and they would so get my out of state tuition.

Sorry about the engineering school. You could call the School of Engineering and see how hard it is to transfer in…They might be more encouraging than you realize. It might be worth it to take a chance…What do your parents say and where else do you want to go?

My parents say “we’re not spending 40k a year for you to “maybe” transfer in” so it was pretty much engineering or nothing…

If you have your heart set on CU (and I don’t blame you) you might check into the Engineering Physics option in the Physics Dept. (which is in Arts and Sciences):
[Programs of Study in Physics](http://www.colorado.edu/physics/Web/education/undergrad/progs.html)

Its an excellent dept - 3 Nobel winners, grad school recently ranked #1 in Atomic/Molecular/Optical - over MIT, Harvard, Stanford, etc. The dept. is small in student number (relative to other CU depts) and the students (like my D) seem to get alot of support - research opportunities, career advising, etc.

There seems to be alot of cross-talk between departments, and inter-disciplinary is the name of the game now in the sciences. I don’t know anything about the Engineering School, and whether there is any advantage to being there, but I certainly would not let any perception of relative “prestige” enter in.

Considering that the first year curriculum for engineering is pretty much the same no matter where you go, I think there’s no problem for you to transfer in the engineering college as long as you take a decent course load for your freshmen year and maintain a good GPA. You should call CU to see if you should:
1/ go to a community college for your first year, and then transfer to CU. This option will save a lot of money.
or
2/ go to CU Liberal Arts college for your first year and transfer to CU. Although this option may cost you a lot of money, it may increase your chance of getting admitted as a transfer student since many universities give a priority to intertransfer students. I dont know if CU has this policy. That’s why you should call them to see what option is the most feasible.

Btw, I just received a letter from the engineering college this afternoon saying that I will receive a 4000 scholarship if I attend CU. I’m an instate student.

Emerika: Let us know what the Admission Rep says. I would also call the Engineering school myself and ask them how hard it is to transfer in…A lot of engineering students drop out after the first year… and there probably always are openings…You are right to ask about wait lists…I think that is a good idea. If they see you really want to attend the school, I think that counts a lot!

Anyone else still waiting? I know my son had everything in on time … we did communicate with an admissions rep awhile ago to make sure. Guess we’ll just have to wait some more.

kelsmom: IF you check on the CU facebook page, they are saying to call them up to check on your status. You should call them first thing tomorrow monring, that is what I would suggest…You can find lots of information on the CU Boulder Admissions Facebook page.

Kelsmom: I am still waiting and I had everything in super early! If I see “We have received your application and are processing your file. Continue to check your status” much longer I am going to go crazy. And I called them today. They told me I would someone would call me or update my status today.

Rousse, I’d have to have a facebook account … something I have vowed not to do! My son isn’t around, but I’ll suggest that he look on Facebook later. Thanks!

You do not need to have a Facebook account to look it up. Look up University of Colorado Admissions page. Anyone can look it up even if you do not have an account…They post information and other kids who are waiting post information. Good luck and let us know what you find out!

They still haven’t posted my decision! I called again and they told me the decision was made LAST WEEK and wasn’t loaded into the system yet. I applied so early. I can’t believe this.

CFL: That’s absurd. If I were you I’d call someone higher up, like your state representative. You can find her name/phone number on MyCUBoulder. Call her up and tell him/her politely that you deserve your decision especially if it was made last week.

Well my message on the portal finally changed-- to say that my application was INCOMPLETE! I had already confirmed twice with the admissions counselor that my application was complete! When I called in a panic today, they said they didn’t have my application fee, which is interesting because they cashed my mom’s check on November 12!! They said they were going to check into it and get back to me with my decision today or tomorrow. Same thing I heard on Tuesday and Yesterday! Now I have this vision of them flipping through my file in 3 seconds after they’ve admitted a bazillion people already and stamping “declined” on it!
