I think a high speed rail would be wonderful - but it would probably take a decade to complete – maybe my 10 year old will go to USF on the bullet train!

too late to apply?

^ no, i don’t think so. just click where it says to apply.

Not too late, but remember that it gets tougher and tougher to get into most schools if you wait because fewer and fewer seats are left. Also, expect a ton of new applicants after February 12 (when UF announces).

or expect more seats available when they are accepted to UF

True - it will definitely work both ways. However, USF probably won’t open most of those seats until May 1, right?

FWIW, (take anecdotal evidence with a grain of salt) my daughter knows of a number of seniors who applied to UCF after January 1 and are getting rejected – even though students with lower stats were accepted last fall. That indicates to me that UCF is getting more selective this late in the cycle. Since UCF and USF are comparable schools, I’d guess the same applies to USF.

Nevertheless, it can’t hurt to apply – even if you have to wait until after May 1 to get a decision.

Hey there… is the USF honors college that great? I got accepted too, but i’m an intl student and pretty much have not much of an idea on the perks of the Honors College. I read their website and all, but since ur excited… just wanted to know if it’ll really matter that much in the future?

They are pretty smart over at the USF Honors College; they didn’t invite me into the program.

thanks again, lizard!

About how long does it take for USF to update my admission status? I applied back in December but they didn’t get my transcript/SAT scores until last week (well, the transcript came in the week before but that’s no difference, really).

I check my OASIS account constantly, it’s becoming insane, ha.

Hey does USF revoke acceptances if your final grades are not that good? just wondering…

dollybelle, I think USF usually gets admission decision posted on Oasis between 2-4 weeks after they have received all your app stuff, including app fee.

Singapore, USF could rescind its admission offer, or put you on academic probation, if your school work drops to a level not consistent with your previous academic history and USF’s admissions criteria. D’s and F’s can cause problems. If you are concerned about your grades call admissions at 813 974 3350 right away.

I was deffered from USF a while ago and I still haven’t heard back D:
It’s driving me insane, especially since I’m not sure if I’m getting in
Gah.
Oh and 500 math 550 writing 680 reading
3.8 weighted
75+ hours of community service
Student council, NHS, etc.
Is there anything I can do to get in?
It’s my first choice and I’m getting really nervous ):

YoSteph, Maybe phone admissions if you haven’t already. Too, from USF’s admissions webpage:

Personal Statements, Letters of Recommendation, Resume of Activities and Essays…

USF does not require this information with the initial application. However, in the event that a student is deferred for any reason (including semester grades or new test scores), we encourage submission of this additional documentation. No more than two letters of recommendation should be sent, and they should be submitted by those who can best vouch for the applicants potential for success in the classroom.

i got rejected from USF, My SAT scores are: M:690 CR:640, W:560 total: 1890 GPA: 3.87 unweighted, 4.36 weighted. i am a permanent resident, and i had to send a photocopy of my I-551 form by April 15th which i did but the decision of USF was made the 9th two days before i sent my I-551 form photocopy. DId i get rejected for this issue? And if I did should I appeal the decision of USF?

Im currently taking 2 AP(calc ab and bio) classes and three honor classes. Plus i got two 5’s in ap spanish and french. and im in the top 15% percent of my class. so should i appeal?

I got accepted to USF. I’m soo excited!

anyone majoring in engineering?

arodao1, Phone admissions–they are the only ones that really know what happened. You sure sound qualified for admission, likely the hangup is something that can easily be resolved. Good luck!

thanks lizard. i’m gonna call them first time tomorrow or monday if they dont work on saturdays.

I was accepted into USF for Summer B, for some required classes I needed before my freshman year. I am worrying a bit, though. When I submit my final grades, there may be a D on my transcript for my final trigonometry grade. I don’t need the class to graduate, and I have enough credits, I’m just worried that USF may take back my acceptance.

That will be the only D on my transcript. My entire 4 years I’ve made A’s and B’s, and maybe one C my freshman year. 27 ACT, 1350 SAT, and 3.9 GPA (before the D). I also recently submitted two letters of recommendation, after I was accepted, just in case this may have happened.

What are the chances of them revoking my acceptance?
I also have dyscalculia (dyslexia with my numbers), and I’m willing to ride that if necessary!
