Great! Welcome to Fordham grtskt. You will be at Lincoln Center in Manhattan and that is also a super location. Make sure you visit before you decide. Lincoln Center is like a mini NYU which is really cool for kids who want that experience. And free transportation by RamVan to the Bronx campus at Rose Hill......for other classes if you want or just to hang out or just to go to football and basketball games! If you need FA make sure you apply early.....they are generous with grants. Fordham is an AMAZING school...and really really tight people! Congrats!

That's the thing... I really need all the aid I can get and I won't be getting much financial aid because my family is pretty well off, but my parents are saying they will only pay half the regular tuition and the rest is up to me to get the money whether it be from merit aid or money I have saved.

I was already accepted at the University of Scranton where they offered me $12,000 a year so as of now, it looks like I'll be going there....

I heard the acceptance rate for EA was around 35% this year. Congrats to everyone who got in.. thats a big achievement.

S received acceptance @ BC today, deferral @ Georgetown, and nothing from Fordham. We love those jesuit schools! Fr. Mcshane is the best, He may be the most dynamatic, charasmatic speaker I have ever heard. S hopes to hear tomorrow from Fordham he is hoping for business honors.
Stats: Sat 2180, SAt 2 Bioe 720, USHist 740, Eng. Lit 760 3.82 over 4.0 when weighted for 12 honors and AP courses. Attends a jesuit school is a two sport varsity athlete with lots of work with mentally challenged kids and mentoring freshman at his high school.

Oh LAX...he will get in......just forget Georgetown.....they are like that.....very political. Your son is perfect for Fordham and its a superb school and LOTS of fun! Tell him to chill. Its gonna work out! Congrats on the BC admit...that is also a high achievement. I wont talk you out of that one if that is where he wants to go. But Fordham rocks and its on the move. Hope to see you in April!

Dennis and Boston: congrats to you BOTH! That is superb news! Gosh this is going to be so much fun with all you kids at Fordham next year....its such a great school and there is so much going on all the time. Its no wonder its a white hot school! Fr. McShane is going to reach his goal by 2016, I can just tell already.....the quality of applicants is overwhelming....and is such a pleasure to admit kids with such great stats! But remember, its an academic school and you will work your tail off at Fordham. Work hard and play hard! Go Rams!

SuperMom-aint...congrats to you and welcome to the Fordham Family! Fordham is VERY, VERY strong in History and pre Law. History is one of the more rigorous majors at Fordham and its faculty credentials will blow you away. I can see that the class of 2012 is going to be very strong! Welcome!

deferred from boston college. still nothing in the mail from fordham...really starting to freak out...

Welcome Active! That is also wonderful news for you! You will be strongly challenged at Fordham...but not frenetic and overwhelmed. Being from Westchester we dont need to tell you much about Fordham! But we are delighted you are part of the Fordham Family! And for those who want to know...I am not an employee of Fordham nor paid to be here. I am just a big time supporter and parent of a Fordham Ram...and I want to help Fr. McShane reach his goal of making Fordham the number one Catholic University in the United States by 2016.

pbw.....sorry about the deferral at BC. Its not personal, know that. Its obvious these go out in batches so hang in there! We are rooting for you and crossing our fingers! You seem to be at the end of the alphabet anyway...and maybe that means that your letter went out today......hang tough....

thanks ill keep checking the mail

Welcome to Fordham IHopeIPass! I just love all these acceptances rolling in......great kids with great stats! Now lets hope everyone here is going to get good news!

Congratulations to all the admitted students.

Bunch of quick clarifications:

A. The Early action admit rate was just under 50% (not 35% as has been bantered about here). We were more conservative than last year in offers of admission. Many students were deferred so we could review them in context of the regular decision pool.

B. Most Fordham financial assistance is awarded in consideration of financial need. Competition for merit based awards has increased markedly from just a year ago due to the changing nature of our selectivity and competitiveness (overall) of those offered admission. Please do not disqualify yourself from consideration by NOT applying for aid.

C. We'll be announcing campus visit programs for admitted students just after the holidays via email and on our web site.

D. Final 600 or so decisions were mailed today. All EA applicants should hear by week's end. Most will have something in hand tomorrow (is our best guess).

Final note. This was a remarkable early action applicant pool. Largest in our history (over 7,000) most diverse by any measure, and most talented in terms of high school performance, rank and testing. Frankly, we are in awe.

I remain,

Sincerely Yours
Peter Farrell
Director of Admission

PS Please don't "private message" me on CC. Just send me an email if something's on your mind. I'm just not on CC enough to check!

Thanks Mr. Farrell! I am glad you clarified that! I will edit my post accordingly! Its an awesome applicant pool and we should all be very proud of these fine students!

^ wow The Director of Admission, posting on CC. Thank you for that. Swansong...you are great!

My pleasure Dennis! Its an honor and pleasure to "represent" Fordham in an UNOFFICIAL capacity here on CC. We want to sing from the mountain tops what a great school it is so that we can continue to set new records for the applicant pool in years to come and to get the word out to really strong kids with great stats and even BETTER personal characteristics ( Character Counts!) to apply and attend Fordham University, either at Lincoln Center or at Rose Hill. If I didnt believe in my bones I wouldnt be here, trust me.

Welcome once again!
