I'm glad that Brandeis is a school that looked past my low stats (3.5 uw gpa and 2130 sat). I came to the open house and came again to campus for an interview, so I showed that I really loved the school. Also, my essay was great, as writing is my strong suit, and I'm sure it played no small part in why I was admitted.

accepted with full ride MLK scholarship

looks like i will be an MLK scholar next year

Yes! Natalie congratulation on your admissions. I am sure you were accepted because you showed a lot of interest. I think Brandeis would rather take students who show and display that they really want to attend with less than perfect stats than someone with excellent stats but does not really want to attend but is using the school as a safety.

D accepted with full tuition scholarship. See you all on April 10.

Thank you so much! Depending on the financial aid situation, Brandeis is certainly a school that I would love to attend. Congratulations to everyone who got in and good luck to those on the waitlist; my boyfriend was actually waitlisted at Brandeis last year and ended up being accepted.

Accepted with a Presidential Scholarship! I was so psyched when I opened the letter up, I'd been hearing horror stories about kids being rejected with amazing stats. Looking forward to meeting you guys on April 10th!

Son was accepted with $30,000 in finanacial aid and scholarships. He is very excited and is waiting on a few more schools before he makes his decision. Congratulations to everyone!!!

hey, I was wondering how many people overall applied to Brandeis and how many got in..

I want to know too!!!!!

My S was awarded a Premier Trustee Scholarship. We're still waiting on some other schools but I think that he's going to attend Brandeis when it's all said and done.

funny story...
Brandeis LOST my SAT scores & teacher rec
and NEVER told me until I received a letter THIS WEEK
thanking me for my interest and telling me that I was not considered.
=) mad awesome, right?

it's a good thing I wasn't seriously considering them
or I'd have probably jumped off a bridge.

I got in back in February with a full-tuition Justice Brandeis Scholarship!! Did anyone else?

i got the full tuition, room and board MLK scholarship :D

so basically, A Persona, you wasted everyone's time....nice.

He didn't realize he didn't want to go there until after he submitted his application.

The admissions officers got paid to review his application anyway (he probably paid as much as everyone else for the app fee), so I don't how he wasted anyone's time.

anyone know this year's acceptance rate?

I got accepted into Brandeis as somewhat of a safety school (though I am seriously considering going there) and received a $15,000 Dean's Scholarship. When I applied, I thought that there was a high likelihood that I would receive one of 25 full tuition scholarships, or at least one of the higher $25,000 scholarships. If someone who received one of these higher scholarships could post their stats, that would be much appreciated.

For reference, I got a 2400 SAT, 36 ACT, valedictorian, 10 AP classes, National Merit Semifinalist, Tennis Captain, multiple academic awards, other good ECs.

Obviously the awarding of scholarships wasn't based on stats alone.

Actually, according to the website, there are approximately 50 full tuition merit awards, 50 25k awards, and an unspecified number of the 15k awards. In addition there are several other specialized full tuition awards (evidently ranging from one to a few)? And the full ride MLK, which is merit plus need. It seems to me that Brandeis is extremely generous with merit aid. So is Tulane.
Sorry you didn't get what you thought you merited. Perhaps you could call them and discuss it?

there are 10 MLK Scholars per year

10 Louis Brandeis awardees
25 Presdential
10 Dean
