Accepted AA students that didn't get BSAI?

Have there been been any accepted black students that weren't invited to BSAI?

Yes. There will be black kids who will be accepted into Duke but not invited to BSAI. I know several people like that firsthand. Also, not everyone who comes to BSAI will actually enroll at Duke. Come Orientation, there will be a decent number of black freshmen who were at BSAI and a good number who weren't.

abena301; Any words of wisdom for my daughter?

I'm guessing your daughter just got accepted? Tell her congrats and to enjoy being in the position to accept and reject schools, not many people end up in that position. How does she feel about Duke right now? She should definitely visit and stay overnight if she gets the chance.

She is on her way as we "speak"! She is pretty excited as she it was her "first love", didn't think she would get in and she knows it's a pretty bug deal. She does have some good choices that will not challenge her nearly as much ( academically and socially) and a few scholarships as well. I just wonder if she is not as prepared as some of the kids I see getting accepted. I don't doubt her potential, but she went to a tiny Christian school without many AP's or rigor. Will she have easy access to support even before she thinks she needs it? She is used to being top dog. Also she has met few African Americans outside the family and not much "partying", at least as far as I know.

PS; I asked for your advice because I believe I noticed you on the 07 BSAI thread....
