Hello everyone,
A quick question for accepted students! I’ve committed to Brown and withdrawn my applications from the rest of the schools I applied to. What should I do now? How do I pay my student deposit, etc?
Thank you!

Same here. I dont knwo what to do next though. I think Brown will write back with more details after everyone accepts by 8th January.
Just relax. Brown will send you lots of info with very clear time lines for you to follow. No need to be peeking/worrying about what’s next. The most difficult part has passed. Everything else is just gravy.
There’s no deposit. You may not hear anything again from Brown until late spring.
Congratulations!
Congratulations! My DS was accepted ED last year, and he’s just finished his first semester. You don’t need to do anything now, if you’ve withdrawn your other applications. fireandrain is correct that there is no deposit. At some point, the mailings will start, and you will have quite a few things to take care of before school starts. But they’re organized, and you will receive checklists and timelines.
Thank you so much! As an international student, I found some parts of this process very foreign and I don’t know what I’d do without help from college confidential users
I’m a midwest parent and still, this process is SO confusing and having the ED acceptance come so early…it still feels kinda unreal. I’d almost prefer paying a deposit or something. But I guess I will be sending money Brown’s way soon enough (happily of course!)
There is no deposit, but you will get a few things in the mail from them. In the meantime, I would make my hotel reservations for moving into the dorms and for parents weekend (if you plan to attend). Best rates for both will be now. You can also start looking at airfares if you need to fly in for either. Congratulations! Enjoy the rest of your year while all your classmates stress about acceptances. Don’t second guess your choice either - Brown is great.
