Accepted and Deffered at the same time?

<p>Greetings,</p>

<p>I applied to U of M in time for ER and received the "good" deferral letter on the 16th of December. 6 days later, on the 22nd, I got an acceptance letter in the mail. This date is, of course, 2 days before their final notification deadline. If this was not the result of a mistake (All application materials were processed a while ago), why would they accept me after deferring me 6 days earlier before they had the chance to review other applicants? I can't possibly imagine they would have the time to go back and review my application. Any thoughts?</p>
