Congrats:) I haven’t gotten any letter yet but I’m hoping that I’ll be invited…I’m also an Asian female but I live on the east coast.

Yay! I got in!
CA, US

uh i just got in too… i’m really confused though-- shouldn’t results come back in like april? i applied regular decision…

@NJchick: did you get invited to the MOSAIC program? And yeah, decisions don’t usually come back until april but I think what you received is the equivalent of a likely letter/informal acceptance. That means you were one of the strongest applicants! Congrats:)

i got in too!!
GA, female

I got the Mosaic invitation too. GA, male. Anyone here going to go?

i REALLY want to go but the FBLA State conference is on the same weekend… in atlanta.

I’m going, I’m excited. Native American from California.

Can you explain how this program works? In order to be considered or invited, does a student have to have applied to Vanderbilt? If so, do you apply separately for this? Do you have to be “multi-cultural”, meaning are they looking for diverse, non-white students? I’m not really understanding this and I can’t find a current Mosaic webpage on Vanderbilt’s site. My son is a junior, interested in Vanderbilt, and he is half Puerto Rican.

@sbjdorlo: In order to be invited to Mosaic, you do have to apply for admission to Vanderbilt but you don’t have to apply separately for the program. Each year, Vanderbilt invites ~200 minority/non-white students to Mosaic. The process for selecting which applicants are invited is very similar to the admissions process…applicants are evaluated holistically (academics, ECs, awards, etc).

Congrats to all!!

Invitees, Please post your brief stats, gender, and ethnicity…

ACT 32, GPA 3.85, Insane amount of extracurriculars, lots of community service and leadership, 7 total APs, great essays and recs, female, white/mexican, California

I’m so excited! I can’t go to Mosaic because I have musical rehearsal, but I’m so happy I got in!

White female, IL, ACT 35, GPA 4.41 weighted, club leadership and community service, 11 total APs (5/4s on the 5 tests I’ve taken)

I think they decided to invite more than just minority/non-white students this year. I am a white female of western european ancestry, so evidently I’m not exactly a minority. One of my classmates is also a white female and was invited, so I know mine wasn’t a mistake ;)

Still deciding whether or not to go. I haven’t visited the campus, so I’m leaning toward going. Very excited to be accepted

Hey everyone, I got accepted and invited to MOSAIC weekend too. I’m super excited. Im not too sure I’m going to go, because its pretty expensive and far & im all the way in Chicago. But if I do go to Vandy, I’m looking forward to meeting all of you! =) Where else did all you apply??? Or is Vanderbilt your first choice?

Hey everyone! I"m actually white…so I didn’t get invited to this…:frowning: However! I was curious if this goes out to all nonwhites who are accepted or just some of them? [I have an indian friend who is curious haha]

Omg me too, I didn’t see this coming :D

Just got my letter in the mail…super excited for March! Hispanic from TX :)

i understand it is supposed to be the top 200 or so minority students based upon some holistic criteria… so not ALL minorities. not sure why they are inviting white students to the event as noted in post #14, that sort of undermines the credibility of a diversity program.

When is it?
