My GPA until my junior yr was a 3.69. Right now I have two C's in 2 AP classes and a B and an A in another class. Will I get rescinded? What's the minimum GPA I have to maintain to not get my admission cancelled? Also, on average, how many applicants get their admission cancelled each yr?

i have all As excepted a B+ in AP physics and A- in AP biology, will get my admission cancelled too? i cant sleep at night thinking about it

XO, I hope you're being sarcastic...

well, not really but sort of... i AM kind of worried about my grades as I did kind of not care about them as much. But then i started thinking of possibilities of rescinds, or if I want to transfer if I don't like my current college and Stanford would look at my 8th semester grades and say OMG. My first B+... it might even become a B.

I, too, am worried about it, but not that much. My grades have dropped from a solid 94 average to the mid-80's. I'm pretty sure a B average isn't going to constitute grounds for rescinding.

I have a friend whose grades dropped to around 80 but still managed to not have his admission offer rescinded. I don't think a C is going to kill you, but it's testing the patience of the admissions committee a little. Hang in there for the last two months and go out with a bang!

Unless you get a couple of D's or fail something, nobody is gonna even think about rescinding an admissions offer.

what about transfer?!?!?!

i was accepted with a C on my midyear report and my other grades were nothing great.

you guys about to slit your wrists over a B+ are pathetic.

bump~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No need to bump, hertish, because your chances of being rescinded are so slim. I totally agree with you, crabluva.

I'd try to get one of those C's up to a B- just to make sure

Still, they likely will not rescind him for a C. Don't worry about it, hertish.

what about A, A, A, A, A, A, D

overal GPA by end of 8th semester, 3.7

I am kind of under the impression that in order to be rescinded you have to fail out. I am in danger of getting three C's this quarter and I am not that concerned. My Eco Gov teacher who has been at our school for 30 years told us that there has been only 1 person who had their acceptance rescinded at our school. This girl was accepted to brown and after didn't come to school and failed all her classes. Until someone can give me an example of someone's application being rescinded for Cs I am going to try to not worry about it.

wat about my D!!! i HATE that english class i plan on doing NOTHING in it until graduation, ever since that teacher refused to accept one of my paper 1 day late, not even for fraction of credit *sniff.

but hte fear still lives in me. im not gonna flunk it, but it might not be A or B... it might be C+ or C or C- or D+ or D

You are a lot better off with your 1 D compared to my three C's. I really wouldn't worry if I were you.

Thanks for the responses guys... i was kinda worried because my dean told me to maintain at least a B avg until the end of the year...

my grades have dropped some since i'm taking 5 AP classes this year and they are killing me.

i took 6, and a 7th hour government

yeah well for your final transcript they don't look at individual marking periods but rather the entire year grade... and i think mine are going to be fine, except im a little bit worried that my AP english grade might drop to a C. But like you said... if i have one C as a final grade and the rest A's and B's, that shouldn't be too big of a deal, right? Because I got a final grade C in a cp math class soph year and NYU still accepted me.
