I was just accepted to UDel as a transfer student and I will be attending this Fall semester. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has transferred and would be willing to share their experience with me on things like housing, people, faculty, and just general information.

Or, if anybody else has been accepted as a transfer and will be attending this fall...

I am transferring from Mercyhurst University (formerly Mercyhurst College, changed to “University” status past February) in Erie, PA. I’m not sure how many of my credits will transfer, if all of them do I’ll be considered a Sophomore.

I was just wondering if anybody had some insight on the process. Does the school make an effort to integrate transfer students into the curriculum or just expect them to figure it out on their own. Also, another big thing is housing. Obviously, it’s a space related issue, but I’m just wondering if most transfer students are able to be housed on campus… this worries me especially because I’m an out of state resident.

UD has a special housing program for transfer students called the Transfer Community LLC with housing in the Ray Street apartments. The program is designed to help transfer students adjust to UD in a supportive/directive manner. You can check it out on UD’s Housing website. Best wishes to you.

Raffy - Yes, this additional information helps.

As the issue of how many of your credits will transfer, UDel has an online evaluator that could be used as a starting point. Keep in mind that credit for a course may transfer, but not as a core course. This is an issue that could be discussed with your advisor, who in all probability will not be assigned until you commit to actually transfer … hence the appeal of the online transfer credit evaluator: [University of Delaware: Office of the Registrar](<a href=“How to Transfer Credit to UD”>How to Transfer Credit to UD)

As for housing, it appears UDel does have dormitory space for transfers:
“The residence halls at the University of Delaware are home to a diverse, inclusive community of over 7200 freshman, transfer, and upperclass students.”
