I was accepted to USC this past week.
USC is too expensive for me this year because I cannot get financial aid, I will most likely be able to get it in a year or two. What are my chances of getting accepted as a transfer in one or two years after attending a good school such as University of Miami or Northeastern University. I am majoring in architecture if that helps.

You defer enrollment for up to one year.

Is it possible to delay or defer my admission to a future term?
Students who wish to delay all undergraduate studies for one year should submit a USC Admission Deferral Request Form to the Admission Office. A deferral may be requested within one year of the original semester of application. (Example: You originally applied for the fall 2013 semester, and you wish to have your admission deferred to the fall 2014 semester.) Longer gaps required for religious reasons, or for compulsory military service, will also be considered.

Complete, sign and date the Admission Deferral Request Form and submit it to our office as soon as possible.

Would the admission be delayed to fall 2014 for sophmore year or would it just add an extra year in between senior year of high school and freshman year of college?

bump bump bump

A deferral would be adding a gap year between high school and freshman year of college. You want to start college in the fall, so this doesn’t seem like the way to go for you.

Given that architecture is a specific program at USC, you should find out how to transfer after two years. What classes transfer-- what should you be taking at your first college. These are questions you need to ask someone in the architecture department.

Just a thought – is it possible to defer one year, attend CC for that gap year, and transfer enough credits to be sophomore at USC?

Maybe OP should check with USC.

i will call the school of architecture to see what i should do with my classes if i go to another school freshman year. I dont think I can go to a community college because they dont have the same classes as in a Bachelor of Architecture program. Thanks for your help.
