I’m out of state and received my acceptence letter from UW today; I applied as a CS major. I only got the letter stating I have been admitted; no where does it state the major I was accepted, or undeclared if I didn’t make it into what I applied for. I have yet to get the full packet which they say will come in mail later.
Does anyone know if this means I was accepted as CS (what I applied for) or if its undeclared or if there is some way to check what major I was accepted as?
Thanks.
@irvhs94538 check your unofficial transcript. Go to “myUW” then admissions, and then click on unofficial transcript in the bottom righthand side. If it indicates “computer science” as your major, congrats! If not, either you didn’t get DS or (much more likely) they are still uploading things, so you’ll have to wait. Good luck though! I’m waiting to see if I get DS to the business school.
Sounds like a lot of people are saying the unofficial transcript thing is true. If your major shows up as Computer Science, then you’re probably in DA. I tried emailing UW admissions about it to confirm, but the answer I pretty much got was that you have to wait for the official decision later that has your major listed. Actually, he/she also said if your major is listed as pre-major or the school is listed as the College of Arts and Sciences, then you are likely not admitted at this time. But I find that second part weird because I am fairly certain that CS is in the College of Arts and Sciences while CE is in the College of Engineering.
@GabiWasabi It says “Arts&Sciences” under college and “Pre Science” under major. Does this mean I did not DS or is there still a chance for it. If I did not get it, do you know if its particularly competitive to get accepted by the CS department from the “pre science” status that I would have. Is it guaranteed that there will be a spot at that point in the CS department since I applied now as a CS major?
I’m out of states right now and can’t get mails.
Is there a way to find out if I got in online?
