i’m international so i received my decision online.</p>
<p>that potential classmate page thing is insane. now i’m not feeling bitter at all… i guess i just wasn’t andover calibre, heh. i’ve never raised a thousand dollars for charity much less 30 thousand!</p>
<p>It’s insane what some of those kids have done! I remember the last time I raised that much money… Oh wait…</p>
<p>heh don’t be too awestruck, zdoub-- next thing you know you’ll be eating with them, sharing a room with them, taking classes with them… <em>jealous</em></p>

<p>Thanks trew! Well what it is is an award I received for my pursuit of excellence and my “award” was this scholarship. It said that I was one of a group people who had these characteristics I’ll explain more when I get home as I don’t have it in front of me. It’s called an endowment scholarship.</p>

<p>Being accepted to Andover is definitely something about which we can all be proud. </p>
<p>Nevertheless, let’s not allow our understandable elation to blind us to the importance of empathy. We are not the only people who read this thread. Students whom Andover rejected or wait listed read it as well. And given the uniformly high quality of the admission pool at Andover, their records are likely as good or better than ours. </p>
<p>So, let’s be sensitive to their feelings because the last couple of days may have been extraordinarily tough for many of them. Don’t trumpet how wonderful you are. Be modestly thankful for your good luck. And remember that your acceptance to Andover might have just as easily been a rejection.</p>
<p>I understand your point and sorry if it seems that I have been boasting. I’ve experienced rejection as well, last year I was rejected at Andover, Exeter, and waitlisted at Deerfield, so I can understand how this may have hurt some feelings. But, after rejection at Exeter for the second time at 6:27 am yesterday, I was ecstatic about my acceptance at Andover, and maybe this thread was unnecessary? Sorry if I have offended any of you.
