por favor....anyone

Radar, you're looking in the wrong place for acceptances. A bunch of kids who have gotten accepted to Rensselaer have posted on the individual colleges-Rensselaer board. I assume if your son applied EA he's a medalist, since that is the only way you can apply EA, otherwise it is ED or RD. My son heard back on November 18 but it was the first app he sent in in mid October, he's accepted for Mechanical Engineering, 1430 SATs, good ECs, 94.2 average, our class does not rank but I'd say he's in the top 15% of a very tough school. I'd be shocked with your son's stats if he is not accepted. If you sent in the app just before the December 1 deadline you should be hearing by the end of the month, otherwise I'd call them, if you sent it in a lot earlier that that I'd get in touch this week to check.

BTW, I did see your post over on the RPI board, so obviously you know about that, sorry, and I see he is a medal winner. The envelope was a very thin one, just the congrats letter, more info will be forthcoming and an envelope to mail in your deposit if you wished and that would determine your place in terms of selecting a dorm (the only reason for possibly sending in the deposit now). Were you there for medalist day? No financial aid info yet, maybe after the FAFSA. My son is probably going to go there; waiting to see on a couple of other schools but the medal money and opportunity is hard to pass up.

I thought the open house was petty good, and very well run. I think RPI is the likely favorite with my son, but you never know. if we don't hear in a couple days, we'll call.
