Accepted Athletes?

Hey- My name is Mike and I am from Connecticut. I was recently accepted EA by Yale, and I will also play football at Yale for the next four years. I was wondering if anyone on this board is both a member of the Yale Class of '09 and a recruited athlete who will be playing at Yale next year. Please let me know. Thanks.

no athletes at all?

I know that panthers7 was accepted as a recruited football player :).

You should do a search for him if he doesn't show up at this thread.

I know of two fencers that were accepted early. I also fence and was deferred.

We were all "recruited".

oi8u4lunch, what weapon do you fence?

One of my good friends is going to play girls lacrosse there next year and has been accepted EA, who knows maybe I will too when I'm applying to schools next year...

Foil. I am also home schooled.

Do you fence?

Best of luck to you in the regular decision round. Folks at the local fencing club (DCFC) were talking about a really "awesome" fencer who got deferred EA -- don't know if that was you, but apparently you're in good company.

I don't (I'm a parent), but my prospective Yalie fences epee -- met the fencing coach, but is not at the level to be recruited.

That was me.

...And they say the internet is anonymous.

It took about 30 seconds to be indentified!

This is really really horrible. It seriously took less than 30 seconds... and I didn't think anyone would really know what fencing was all about!

Anddd... I take it you're . dad.

You were being described with words like "awesome" and "amazing," for both your academic and fencing abilities. From what I heard, some school is going to be very lucky to get you in the regular decision round.

It is hardly that amazing or awesome on PAPER (or otherwise actually)... but thank you!

We'll see what happens, but I will be pretty happy where ever I go.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

My little brother is the "smart" one. He has a 4 on English Lit and Calculus, SAT and SAT 2 scores whose combined total exceed my own, is higher ranked in fencing and was 13/14 when he did it. I want to apply as HIM.

Ha....I will pass it on to "." that you posted here! Again, DCFC folks were raving about you and your fencing abilities. I'm sure you'll do fine. From ".".s Mom

haha! This is all too weird/funny.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!

And congratulations to ".""! As told her at practice, it's really great she was accepted!
