Accepted!! BABY!

I received a letter today that says I have been accepted at U of R!!
Also I am one of 1 % who are eligible for Renaissance Scholarship, which covers the full tuition. Since there are many students who are seeking any chances, I leave my stats.

Oh! Before I forget, I had an interview with Admissions Officer for over an hour. It was very successful. The interview was scheduled for 20min. but the officer liked me and it kept on going. I think the impressions that I made to him affected alot.

I applied for regular decision, but already got the acceptance letter.

Had you sent in your mid-year grade report yet?

Dychang, when did you apply? Early or regular decision? And how close to the deadline if regular?
I applied in late Dec. and hoped my stats were OK to be considered for scholarships. But it took a while till they found my transcript (and two out of three teacher recs were still missing a few days ago). They kept telling it's OK, they are still sorting through the mail, but now I am worried that my app will be complete too late for scholarships. Maybe I shuold have re-send that transcript. And should I ask teachers to re-send the letters?
And I repeat the question about the mid-year report - ours will not be ready for two more weeks! - and this result in my app being incomplete.

The OP says he applied regular decision

I applied in mid-November, and when I applied, I gave my counselor a mid-year report form. My school just had a mid-term and grades were in by yesterday. I expect a counselor to send a mid-year report by the end of this week. As I said before, I applied for regular admissions, and I am also surprised that the decision came out so early.

Thank you! At least it looks like the mid'term report does not hold me back (our grades will be ready in two weeks).
I'll just hope that their scholarship consideration is not over yet.

Wow!! Congratulations!
So they are starting to release some decisions for RD?
by the way, dychang, are you korean??
I'm just curious since you took SAT II Korean...(I'm korean)

Dychang for president!!
Congratulations. now that’s what I call a list of ECs….
By the way, are you sure to attend UR or are you waiting for decisions from other colleges?

I am waiting on United States Military Academy at West Point. I may wait for another a month.

I was adopted from South Korea to America in the year of 2003. Actually, July, 2003. I am surprised how much I have done for the past 4 years.
I would think that if I were smarter, I would have learned English faster than original of me, and would have accomplished more than what I was capable to do. But since senior year is almost over, I am just happy that I was able to pull off this much. U of R is such a good school.

Good luck to you all. My name is Dan. So call me Dan instead my CC ID :)

Dan, Wow you did awesome job in 4 years!!!
I'm also korean and I moved to U.S in year 2004!!
I know and understand how difficult it was for you to come this far
and congratulations! you accomplished so many things in just four years!
My english is still bad, but I have achieved most of my goals I made when I first came here
I'm also happy that the high school is almost over too.
I hope you get good scholarship and go to U of R.
U of R is really good school and it is my #1 choice so far...
it is great to see you!
Good luck to you and enjoy your senior year!

story4clover/ Where do you live? I live an hour away from U of R.
I wish I could give my admissions letter with the Renaissance Scholarship interview opportunity to you because I will eventually end up going West Point. Well, wish you make it.
Where did you previously live in Korea? I lived in Seoul.

congrats! that's awesome : )
they sent out an email saying that they want everything done by mid-march. so, for the rest of us it might be a long wait. eek.

good job. but college is different from high school a lot different. good luck tho

Congratulations Dan! I wish I get into Rochester, too! (Korean too, btw). I wish you best of luck in your future endeavors :)

congrats, congrats
how did you get notified so fast? I'm RD too. I'm a finalist for REMS (have to fly up for interviews soon), so I can assume I got accepted. Haven't gotten any official letter of acceptance/scholarships though. I thought decisions aren't out until march or april?

Well,, I have not received any official letters of acceptance, deposit, and room and board information, yet.
I was selected as one of the Renaissance Scholarship candidates, and that is why I was noticed early.
I was able to find out that I was accepted at U of R by reading a letter and a schedule for Renaissance Scholarship interview. The letter said I am one of 1% students who applied for admissions and selected as a candidate for the Renaissance Scholarship, and congratuations on your acceptance to the class of 2012 at U of R.
However, I declined the offer of Renaissance Scholarship interview due to my ROTC and service academy conflict. I wanted to give an opportunity to a person who needs more financial aid than I.
hope I answered some of the questions fully.

Good luck !
