Accepted but have question about scholarship offers

My child has been accepted to UTD for the 2016 fall semester, but has not received information on scholarship offers.
When will she hear about scholarships applicable/offered to her? He doesn’t want to accept until he knows about scholarships first.Sorry if I sound so ignorant-this is our first college application experience as a parent.

Check this link for details: http://oue.utdallas.edu/aes/aes-faq. Son was accepted last October, scholarship award notification was in mid-December. Good luck!

Thank you! I was looking for this information-appreciate the link!

Award notification for my 1st daughter came mid-December. Award notification for my 2nd daughter came mid-January.

@awintx Do you mind sharing their stats and ECs a bit and how much were they awarded. I was recently admitted to UTD. and i really want to know what are my chances?

My DD got the top award. She has a 2250 SAT, top 1% in a 600 class and 4.0 unweighted GPA. She is captain of the swim team and is active in numerous clubs. She has also won some top state art awards. Hope this helps.

@GTAustin : I know it is a little difficult, however i’d really like you to chance me for any level of AES.

1370 SAT ( 2000 on total)

Class rank 35/500.

International applicant accepted to Computer Science major.

I’ve sent in a very very strong resume.

I really need a scholarship to go to UTD. be it any level of AES

@pk2608, I can only tell you what you probably already know. Your SAT score is in line with the Achievement level of scholarship. You are in the top 10% which I think is probably necessary. To be in the top 10%, I’m sure your grades are good. If you have strong ECs and leadership in your background, that all helps. If you applied prior to 11/15, you probably would already know. If you applied after, I think there is still hope. They mention they give priority to everybody admitted by 3/1. I think you will probably know by mid March. Be patient a little bit longer.

@GTAustin - Grades her in Indian schools aren’t usually very high. In comparison I’ve good grades. But on the total marks they are average.

I really don’t know how people in the US see it.
I have sent in a very very strong resume as I said.

I’m really worried as I’ve heard nothing from SFAID of bot Tamu and UTD

My oldest had a 3.5 unweighted GPA and had an SAT score in line with the AES Distinction level award. She had some volunteer hours at the library, but no big ECs. She had a lot of dual credit hours and a GPA of 3.2 at the community college. She got the Distinction level award. She had a total of about 42 credit hours that transferred to UTD. At that time, the Distinction award was full tuition and $1500/semester stipend towards on-campus housing only.

My middle daughter had a 4.0 unweighted GPA and had an SAT score in line with the AES Distinction level award (the average SAT score for that level increased substantially in the two years between my girls). She had some volunteer hours at the animal shelter, but no big ECs. She had a lot of dual credit hours and a GPA of 4.0 at the community college. She got the Distinction level award. She had a total of 35 credit hours that transferred to UTD and will be graduating a full year early due to those dual credits. At that time, the Distinction award was full tuition and $1000/semester stipend that could be spent on anything.
