I recently got accepted into University of the Pacific but I ended up doing quite poorly in my first semester of my senior year. I got 4 B’s, 1 C, and 1 A. I took AP Spanish and AP Calc. Last year as junior I had a 3.8 UW GPA. Will UoP rescind me?
What does UOP’s provisional contract state in regards to grades and GPA? Rule of thumb: No D’s or F’s Senior year
i looked at their admissions website but it is not clearly stated…
In general, a few more B grades than usually for an otherwise mostly A student won’t raise flags, but any C grade or below is going to require explanation. And you better have a good reason.
Well i’m not exactly an “A” student. Over the course of my high school career, I had a huge upward grade trend from my sop to junior year. I had a 3.2-3.3 my soph year and I had a 3.6-3.8 my junior year. So I did have a C before. Will getting another C affect my acceptance?
I doubt you will be rescinded. Mid semester grades are not the grades you will end up with in the classes anyway. You may get a warning to improve them. It does not seem like you are in the danger zone anyway.
@rookie17 given that I would probably assume this C may not get you rescinded, but I would say you should most definitely avoid more than that. Even though it is your senior year, you should still go for getting as many A grades as possible. A few more grades in the B range shouldn’t be bad, but even all B grades may raise a flag.
Thank you!
tbh, it doesnt matter. contact them via email, and they ll say its ok most likely. My friend got into Stanford junior year and he needed to maintain grades and not commit any felonies. He got straight C’s and he’s fine. Not to say you should follow him, but seniors do get C’s. Senioritis is real. lol.
