Accepted but now want to change majors?

Hey everyone,

In the Fall I applied to 10 schools and I got into 9 of them. I applied under business, specifically Accounting for all of them although it would've been a much smarter idea for me to go in undeclared now that I realize I don't want to do Accounting. I want to major in Nursing which I'm aware is highly competitive, even as a male. I am seriously considering the following schools: UMass Boston, Lowell, and Amherst, Rutgers, Temple, and Adelphi. I was accepted to UMass Amherst under a sociology major (my secondary major choice. I didn't get into their business school because I had only taken 3 years of math in high school.) and Accounting for the rest. What should I do about this situation? I am especially concerned about Amherst because they do not allow transfers into the nursing major so I'm afraid I have already blown my shot. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

Go to each school’s web site and search for “change major nursing” to find out what the procedure is and how difficult it will be.

Get in touch with the admissions offices at the schools ASAP and ask if it is not too late to change the application.
