I applied for Mechanical Engineering, and I got accepted. My only concern is that they also said: While your credentials are impressive, we are unable to offer you admission to the accelerated program to which you have applied.

I am confused as to what this means. Am I still able to go to Drexel with a mechanical engineering major?

yes, the accelerated program is separate. you must have a applied to 5-year BS/MS degree program for mechanical engineering. While you were not accepted to that program, you were still accepted as a mechanical engineering major.

I’m not sure, I would call and ask. I’m only an accepted student as well. If I end up going, I’d be a biomedical engineering in the accelerated degree program with the 5 year co-op.

I just looked on the website and the co-ops don’t start until you’re a couple years in so I would imagine you could join.

Definitely call and ask though because participating in one lowers your tuition by 8000 dollars. Plus, as an engineering co-op you’ll make a about 17,000 dollars for each one of those 6-month periods. Cha-ching.

you can switch your co-op from 4 to 5 years…i simply emailed admissions and they changed it for me within 3 or 4 days and i received a new acceptance letter in the mail

hey, i applied for the 4 year - 1 coop computer engineering program, but later on switch to the 5 year - 3 coop by calling them. I didn’t have any problem changing it. Actually, they were pretty cool about it

I called them again a few days ago to change my major and there was no problem with that either. I was able to have it changed, but make sure to be really nice and say, “thank you” afterwards.
