Same issue with school of nursing for us. Agree, must be the system.

Just recieved my acceptance letter in the mail today!! Potential Class of 2018 nursing student!!

Congrats trossi :)

I found I got in the other day! I am an intended neuroscience major…
For anybody looking at stats, I am an in-state student with a 3.85 uw and 1930 SAT…

D received her acceptance to the nursing school on Friday, Sept. 27. On Saturday night, Sept. 28, the portal changed from SUBMITTED to Accepted. It is a system issue I think as I distinctly recalling S’s portal change taking much longer than that.

Hello! I applied late June to University Of Pittsburgh. We called and they said my application is in committee. When is the latest I can receive my letter? I have been waiting for it for a long time.

scooby, did you find out when your app was complete? if your HS only recently sent in transcript, your app would only recently be complete and that would explain the wait. Re underlying question of when could you hear back from Pitt, I’d check with Pitt directly.

Daughter accepted into class of 2018 nursing! very happy. applied with pitt prestige application and received notice in snail mail. No mention of merit though. Does that come later?

Congratulations everyone! Pitt received all of my info on September 21st, and my letter came on October 3rd (about two weeks later). I was accepted into the School of Arts & Sciences as a potential Pre-Physical Therapy major! Wishing the best for all those applying!

Scooby: Did you confirm that your application is complete, fully? Is it possible that the committee is waiting on end of junior year grades if you have your transcript sent before final grades were on it? Are you sure your official ACT/SAT scores were sent?

HSG

Congratulations to everyone on their acceptance to Pitt. I don’t know if this will help or even applies since it is a new year, but I have a freshman son that is in the Honors program/Chemistry at Pitt this year. He was given full tuition - he came to Pitt with 71 college credits (PSEO and A.P. - I think around 60 were accepted) and a 1560 SAT score. He had a 36 on his ACT - Math, but only a ?34 on Reading. He LOVES Pitt and the Honors dorm! He’s a Chemistry major…takes 18 credit hrs. as a freshman - including Organic Chemistry (loves the professor, but a difficult class!) We were OOS as well, so the merit scholarship cinched it for us! He turned down scholarships to BU, Vanderbilt and the maximus at OSU. H2P

Officially accepted to the Nursing School at Pitt!! Applied around 2 weeks ago and heard back this Tuesday by snail mail!

My daughter received a letter yesterday admitting her to Pitt into the Honors program and the School of Arts and Sciences as a pre-Physical Therapy student. The letter referenced consideration for merit scholarships but not a time frame. It also didn’t mention the Pitt Guaranteed Graduate School Admissions program. Does anyone know when they make those offers and how many kids get into the graduate school program? Thanks!

My daughter also received acceptance to Pitt nursing a couple of weeks ago (did the prestige app as well). She was very excited because she didn’t realize they are a direct entry program. She hasn’t even been to visit yet, so I’m not sure if she will actually attend or not. Her one hesitation is geography. We live in NC and I’m sure those winters will be a shock for her! Any other southern girls out there considering Pitt nursing?

While not in Nursing, we are from Charlotte. It does not really snow that often in Pittsburgh (when it does, it’s wonderful), and when there is, it usually melts quickly. Also wanted to mention that the average temperatures are somewhat comparable to Boone, NC

^ CLTRunner - We are also from NC (Cary) and my daughter was also accepted to Pitt- but for Bioengineering -Swanson School of Engineering. I agree with the weather concern. My hometown is Pittsburgh but my daughter has only ever lived down here. In addition to Pitt being a good school, she actually chose to apply there for the colder weather. We visited in the summer on our way up to Canada and plan to visit again in January! Pitt is her first choice as long as she can get a scholarship.

congrats to all! Any info on these odds please!! Daughter applied through Prestige application & admissions confirmed my daughters application is complete and in review today. Her admissions advisor said she’d have a letter within the week when we spoke today. She has a 4.0 GPA - has taken all advanced and AP course work including 4 lab sciences, 4 math including calc, 3 language. Top 10% of her class of 240, varsity tennis, NHS, Spanish Honors society , and various other clubs. Weakness is SAT score at 570 math (geometry weakness) and 580 CR. Took again last week, but no mention from them that they are waiting for 2nd SAT score to make decision- she applied to school of arts & sciences.

That is good to know so I can give her a frame of reference! She really loves the southeast, but there aren’t as many direct entry nursing programs down here (Clemson and Tennessee are the only other 2 she has applied to in the southeast that are direct). She is visiting at the end of November so I hope the weather cooperates!

I live in NC too! I submitted all my materials to Pitt last week ,I am now waiting on the October SAT. Does anyone know if Pitt superscore?

^^^^^Pitt does superscore.
