I’m an American student currently living in India alone, so my parents got my acceptance letter today in the mail! I was accepted for the Spring semester for Global Management in the College of Business Administration. Almost definitely going to attend over Northeastern and BU which are expensive and not that much better, NCSU and CUNY which are not on the same level and Rutgers, which is in-state but really doesn’t excite me as much as Pitt. Pitt IS the first acceptance I have received, but I probably am going to go ahead and attend even if I do get in anywhere or everywhere else.

A small peek into my profile-
SAT 2100 (CR-710 M-660 W-730) This was my second sitting score, I had received lower scores in each section in my first sitting.

Extracurriculars- Nothing extraordinary. Basketball and soccer along with leadership in event management, throughout high school. Plus a training program in Infosys (Indian software heavyweight) which was highly selective.

Essay- Pretty good I think. I compared my life to a roller coaster and showed adversity, a diverse background and optimism toward Pitt’s ability to provide me with necessary stability along with good education and a great environment.

Recommendations- Was not able to submit any due to an early deadline.

To be honest, I think two factors played in my favour. Firstly, my application was for Spring 2014 so perhaps they were able to overlook some of the less stellar parts of my application. Secondly, I think Pitt is looking for even more diversity among it’s campus. That might have played a huge part in my admission.

Then again, I may be totally wrong! I’m ecstatic, though! Anyone else accepted from India/Asia/out of the USA? Or anyone here admitted into the Global Management/Finance/any College of Business Administration program?

JFYI, two things stood out to me.
One, the admission process was quick and painless. It was definitely the easiest application I had to fill in and contacting OAFA was a breeze. They were quick to reply and seemed enthusiastic about my application. This may vary from student-to-student, but my experience was nothing but great.
Two, my parents got the acceptance in the mail. Neither have they updated my application status nor have they personally sent me an e-mail. I wonder how long they take to update the status and also whether they send e-mails to the students confirming the acceptance, or not.

I’m having trouble checking my status online to make sure it is complete. I applied via Prestige app, so what website should I check it on? Or would it be better to call the admissions office and check?

Got my acceptance letter today for the College of Business Administration with a major in Global Management. Average SAT score for the College of BA is an 1885; I got a 1680. That being said, there is hope for just about everybody. A lot of people in this forum are saying they got scores like a 2100 with 4.0 GPAs and I think its important for people to know that’s not exactly necessary. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t have a 2100 on your SAT, there’s always hope.

Accepted into the business school got my acceptance letter in the mail on October 25th but it was dated for the 18th. 2050 SAT. 3.8913 unweighted GPA

Would anyone know if sending my daughter’s AP test scores would help with scholarships? She has two we could send now, a 4 and a 5. My daughter doesn’t think we need to send til spring, but I’m wondering if all info could help the scholarship committee. Thoughts?

In response to Hihello100, “snail mail” is old fashioned mailing a letter, as opposed to e-mail, Naviance, etc.

Hey guys, I sent my app on the 14th and i think they received all of my materials on the 21st. When should I expect to hear back? This week or next week?
