I just wanted to let you all know, that I’m tired of waiting…

Also, I plan on sending my spring grades the day that they all post, I may just drive down there again if they need new transcripts.

For those of you who have been admitted… what kind of financial aid offers are you getting from UF? I have an EFC of 0 and so far have only been offered a Pell grant & subsidized loans which don’t come close to covering everything. I wasn’t expecting much, but the fact that I received more state and federal aid at community college is pretty sad.

Also, I thought I’d let you know that there are no more orientation fee waivers available. I emailed to inquire as soon as I was accepted and this is part of the email I got back from them:

“Thank you for your request to be considered for a New Student and Family Programs orientation need-based waiver. Unfortunately at this time all of our Preview 2011 Waiver funds have been depleted. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.”

@UForBust,

I receive the same financial awards. They stated even though they receive my fasfa app before Mar 15, since I was admitted after, they ran out of money due to budget cuts.

I got accepted, found out in late March. I had a 3.7 or something GPA. Accepted to CLAS. Conditions: complete AA. Will be finished by next month. Anyone here need a roommate for the Fall still? Help me out.

UForBust; I got both the pell grant and sub- loan… I applied for FAFSA on april 4th, and got accepted on the 22nd… I called fin aid to inquire about work study and the adviser told me they ran out of work-study money pretty quickly.

Look on your college’s website and you might find some scholarships or fellowships that are available for your particular major only. About the waiver for orientation, I applied for it on the 26th and got the same crap email on the 29th about the funds being depleted blah blah blah. Just out of curiosity, and if you don’t mind sharing, how much is your pell grant? mine is 2,750 and another 2,750 that i can borrow for the fall. Same amounts for the spring. Does anyone know how to get fin aid for the summer?

hermosa91, I think I’ll be by myself since it’s pretty hard to find somebody willing to deal with a cat and a dog… if you don’t mind my pets let me know in a private message

Kttn the pell grant doesn’t go higher than that, you got the max. (5500/spring&fall). And you apply for summer aid separately I’m not sure if you’re talking about this summer or next summer though… this coming summer requires a fafsa from 2009

I was talking about the summer of 2012…

Random question; has anyone taken CLEP for a math class? is it multiple choice or do you have to type in your answer on the computer?

Oh well in that case, next year (~marchish) you will get an email from the financial aid office and you apply through ISIS if you plan to attend over summer.

I got the same thing. Pell grant and Subsidized loans. Which sucks considering I thought I’d be eligible for other grants…

I know what you mean Dannix, I didn’t even get any State grants :S

On this link you can find scholarships available by college, some are just for one specific major… still don’t know how it works or what you have to do to apply for them, my department doesn’t answer the phone nor return my voicemails :(

I’ve been following this thread for a while now, and I was just wondering, what you guys think I should do about a problem I have. I only just finished my courses, and my grades were suppose to be in by yesterday. Unfortunately my Biology II teacher got MRSA, and his grades won’t be sent in until late Monday evening. I pre-paid for my college to send my transcripts as soon as my grades came out, but they didn’t wait for my Biology grade, and only sent my other grade. I think this means there is an incomplete on my transcripts. I’m afraid I won’t get in because of this. Do you think UF will listen to me about my grades if I call them? I really don’t want to be denied just because my school screwed, up especially since I have an A in the class.

Yeah you’re pretty much worried about nothing. Call them Monday morning and ask if they want another set of transcripts sent or not.

Don’t worry about it, I had an Incomplete grade due to emergency tonsil surgery a few days before my finals, and I still got in to UF with no questions asked about that I grade.

Are we suppose to send in our spring grades if there is no decision on our application yet?

lavender i dont think it can hurt to send those grades if you haven’t heard yet but i think they just haven’t viewed your app yet. i called the school of theatre again and he told me this time that he’d be looking at transfer apps next week…kinda redundant since he tells me every time we speak that i’ll be seeing a decision within the next week or two. anyway i’m trying my best to hang on and not lose it…

thanks scgirl21. I think we’re all trying to hang in there lol. If anything sending my transcript will just strengthen my application I think. Good luck to you and everyone else on this thread.

Damn, it seems like this thread is dead. Every day less and less people are posting, compared to other threads. Don’t be discouraged guys!!

Just wanted to shine a ray of hope in this thread. I’ve been following it it for awhile and tonight finally received my “Congratulations! Welcome to the Gator Nation” message. I applied as a transfer student from Santa Fe (61 credits) with a 4.0 back in February. I did send my final transcript as soon as it posted.

Congrats Afleming! I hope everyone else is just as lucky.

Wow, this forum really has become quite slow. I’m going to assume this is because there are still too many people (including myself) who have not heard a decision from UF yet. I really can’t figure out what is taking them so long, CLAS anyways. I’ve sent my final grades to them, which the majority of them they received a few days ago. One other grade just got sent yesterday. I’m basically past the point of hoping, but I do hope that seeing those grades will make them make a decision right then and there.
