accepted/ denied uf transfer fall 2011

I applied to UF as a Spring Transfer last month. I just got all my transcripts and paper work into them yesterday. Now Im waiting! I read the old 2010 transfer blog and people were getting accepted around October. So im hopeful!!!

How many extra curricular activities do I need?
I moved to FL from NH alone and right out of HS. Now I am trying to transfer into the Advertising program at UF and I’m worried already that I wont be accepted due to the fact that I don’t have many EC besides work. I’ve worked my butt off to get where I am. Thoughts/suggestions anyone?

I’m currently applying for transfer to UF and I have a 3.68 overall GPA and a 3.0 Pre-req GPA. @Mikebuk123: when you got accepted, was that a 3.4 overall GPA or a 3.4 Pre-req GPA?

Does anyone know what my chances of getting in are?

hockey…are you in the state of FL? I applied for summer A as an out of state transfer.

GPA: 3.65
Major and college: Criminology, CLAS

So I got the official letter just now after finding out online a few days ago that I was not accepted.

CC transfer from FL
Term applied for: Summer B 2012
GPA: 3.0
Applied to CLAS for History.
No EC’s, Female, Asian, 1st generation college student, employed part time (10-20 hrs/week).

I have to say it sucks getting a rejection letter, but it was encouraging generic letter nonetheless.

Did they say why you weren’t admitted? And had you taken any pre reqs and did you have your AA?

Yeah I completed all pre-req’s for my intended major and would receive my AA in early May.

The letter basically said they received a lot of apps and as it said on the site and in my letter:

“Possible Reasons for Denial
YOUR APPLICATION WAS NOT AS COMPETITIVE AS OTHERS THAT HAVE APPLIED FOR
ADMISSION TO THIS MAJOR.”
