Hey everyone,

This is UF and Santa Fe’s spring break, so advisors may or may not be in the office right now. I would not expect to hear anything until next week - I doubt a lot of them are working currently. So rioteeru, this may be why you have not gotten a call back.

Ugh, I hate the wait. I just want to know! If I at least know by the end of this month I’ll be happy (assuming I get in). I can’t even contemplate the chance of not knowing until June, that’s crazy!

lol ggirl, the worst part for me about waiting until June, is that I’ll be knee deep in the middle of my summer semester. Meaning I’ll have wasted about a grand on 2 classes that I’ll have to drop, either ochem and physics, or humanities and psychology. I really, REALLY hope they tell me before my summer starts.

I am in the same situation. UF better notify me if I get in or not, otherwise I’ll being taking Calc in the summer for no reason!

Has anyone heard of acceptance yet who’s transferring from an out of state school? I’m a FL resident but coming from USC and my gpa is on the lower end. I’m really worried…I got in as a freshman, but loved SC and now need to come back for cost reasons (and I always loved UF). Applied for CFA.

Congratulations to those who’ve heard already!

I was accepted from an OOS university about a month ago, but I applied for summer B term. I applied to CLAS.

I’m envying you summer term applicants so much that I almost wish I applied for that term instead, just for the chance that I might already know if I was accepted or not. The only reason I applied for Fall is because of financial reasons, bright futures doesn’t cover summer classes (I don’t get why though). I check my status constantly, I just hope I don’t have to keep doing that for long and find out soon!

Hi everyone,

Does anyone here has their application referred to your major’s department? It’s been a month and my application is still pending at the office of admissions, they haven’t decided yet whether or not to forward it to the department of architecture for their review; the wait is driving me crazy and it seems like they work at the speed of a snail!!!
Also, did anyone here applied or knows of someone that applied for transfer into architecture’s lower division? I have no clue how high the demand is, and how many people am I competing against…

Just like most of you guys, I am also waiting to hear back from CLAS. this wait is killing me. Its been about a month if not more that ISIS has posted this:
Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2011 term has been referred to your college for a final decision. Please refer to the information below to determine whether any additional information is required. If you have sent information to us recently, please allow time for processing.

I applied late december as a transfer students. I have a 3.5 GPA I am a biology major. And I have tons of extra curricular activities as well as a few awards that stand out to colleges. Not hearing back from UF is stressing me out like no other.

Good luck to everyone

I’m on spring break right now, so I thought I should take some time out and just drive to UF (I’m from Tampa). I met with an academic advisor for CLAS and she told me that it’s odd that I haven’t gotten a reply yet, seeing as my application was forwarded to CLAS in January. She said she would check on it and I should hear from her by Friday. She also told me that in general, once your application is forwarded to your college, you should hear back from them in (usually) no more than 8 weeks. I know that that’s what it says on the site and they sometimes take longer, but she genuinely was surprised that they haven’t sent a response yet. Hopefully they haven’t lost my application :S

I’m sure they didn’t lose your application weezer, don’t worry! Now I’m trying to remember when my application was “referred” to CLAS for the final decision so I can do the math, lol. I think it might have been the first week of February (I applied December 31st)…but I can’t remember. I hope we all find out (and get in) soon!

hmmm… so it seems like they’re taking about 6-8 weeks before they forward it to the department you’re applying to; talk about being slow. I was a bit of a procrastinator and didn’t send all my app. materials until Feb. 24th, and now I’m too anxious and can’t wait any longer, because I’m afraid I’ll miss the deadline for FAFSA just because they’re taking forever to decide if they’ll accept me (and all of you who are also waiting) Can you apply for FAFSA even if you haven’t been accepted yet?

Yes Kittn send your fafsa now! Once you get accepted they will have your fafsa on file and determine your amount of aid from there. It doesn’t matter if you are accepted there yet or not, it’s just information for the schools to use, since they are the one who determine how much aid you get.

Hey guys, I’ve been following this thread for a while because I also applied for transfer from my local community college with my AA. I’m applying to CALS and I received a reply today from the undergraduate adviser. She said that they haven’t yet begun to look at transfer applications for the fall '11 term. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer.

GatorHopeful, I also applied to CALS (Animal Biology). Did they say when they were going to start looking at Fall applicants?

@zappiaer, unfortunately not. I was just told that they have not begun looking at fall transfer applicants yet and I will get my decision no later than June 15. I’m applying for animal science as well, btw.

CALS is the slowest of all the colleges I think… so frustrating. However, they accept the most amount of transfers of all the colleges so hopefully the wait will be worth it for all of you waiting on them.

Did anyone apply to CLAS for Economics? What are your stats?

Wow! Those of you who have already been accepted congrats! I applied over a month ago and I am still waiting for my initial review process to begin. So I am pretty much freaking out at this point since I need to know if I’ve been accepted that way I can make a decision to end or renew my apartment lease at my current place. What do you think my chances are?

Transfer from Florida Gulf Coast University
Current GPA 3.63
