D was accepted EA, paid deposit, then... silence.
Found out the email address on file was incorrect. Tried (3 x) to get it corrected, but so far no acknowledgment of any change. So a question:
Have other EAs received any updated info/email correspondence from Rice? Has D missed anything?

Congrats to your d on her acceptance! I would call the admissions office tomorrow to see whether you can get some answers.

Um... I don't know why people keep thinking Rice has Early Action (EA).

Rice only has either Early Decision (ED) or Regular Decision (RD).

Did you mean ED then?

And yes, I would recommend you to call them up tomorrow. Calling is much faster than email.

Thanks Highland mom! D is excited.
A bit snarky hotasice... Yes I meant ED.
Thanks for both of your input - I will try to correct the info again (but it hasn't worked so far - I know they are really busy in admissions). I was hoping to hear if other accepted students had had any extra output from Rice past the acceptance letter and financial letter.

I'm afraid that there is a period of silence after acceptance. Everyone is busy in the admissions department poring through the RD applications, and FA is putting together financial aid packages... and I know there is a "let-down" for ED applicants who are eager to find out about school things. I would encourage patience. Info will be coming soon about the Owl Days, then info about your res college, etc.

Well I was also accepted via ED and I have not received anything else important except for an invitation for Visions which also came in the mail. I too was a bit disappointed because my excitement for Rice has quieted a bit but I know it will spring back up when it picks back up in June

Thanks for your input pyles and anxious, knowing that we have not missed any follow up emails helps a lot (perhaps we should be called anxiousMom&Dad!).

hah! ;) I nabbed that name 6 years ago when Dd was looking at colleges and I wasn't sure how we were going to afford the whole process. I worried about EVERYTHING - about her walking around at night, possibly having to live off campus one year, studying abroad, getting work, getting mono (which she did - majorly), living by herself, living with other students, sheeeesssshhhh! What a waste of time worrying! She had a great experience at Rice (which continues post-graduation with her Rice travel scholarship. :)); we are still solvent and DS is happily studying at Rice - and just found out that he got a great research job for the summer and beyond with a prof he really likes. No worries. Unfortunately, I never could figure out how to change my screenname, so I am still "anxious". ;)

yep I still have not received anything at all since the beginning financial aid and acceptance...

got a "updating events" in mid January but that was about it
