Last month I was accepted to Northeastern pharmacy EA. However, I have been debating on whether I should pursue pharmacy or nursing for quiet some time now, and have recently discovered that nursing is what I truly want to do. I was just wondering how difficult it would be for me to change my major to nursing if I send in a request on myNEU. Also, I received some merit and was wondering if it would be revoked if my request is accepted. It would be great if anyone who has requested a change in major in the past would let me know how it worked out for them. Thanks! :)

It may not be easy, and they may require you to do a full internal transfer process-- to prove you really want to do nursing (because if you really wanted to dedicate your life to being a nurse, why didn’t you know that three months ago?).

But no matter what, it’ll be much harder to transfer once school starts than now. So worst case scenario, you just have to wait and see. Request it now.

It shouldn’t change merit aid.

I was recently accepted as well and I changed my major from mechanical engineering to undecided engineering and it only took a few days for them to respond. It may be a little different to switch to whole different program though but hey its worth a shot. GO AHEAD! :)

Thank you both for the input. The fact that they reply so quickly makes me feel a lot better because I really wanted to set my major in stone before welcome day. I’m going to send in a request right away!
