Accepted Early. Merit Aid?

I just got that email Im so excited! now its just a matter of getting a nice financial aid package…i really hope i get a decent deal this is one of my top choices

I applied last Friday and just received the same email  If I don’t qualify for need-based aid but still want to see if I can get a nice merit package, do I still have to fill out to SAS form?

And just for reference, I sent my application last Friday night and received the email about an hour ago

Just got it too!

Just got my email! :D

Hey guys, I’m really afraid with all these people on CC and Twitter getting acceptances emails when I’m mostly qualified (SAT is a little low but the rest is 50%) and applied on 10/24. Did you email-receivers answer “Yes” to the financial aid section/question? Because I selected “no”… could that perhaps be the reason I’m not getting anything?

Really stressed student with Fordham Gabelli School of Business at Rose Hill as his dream school. I’ve been occasionally visiting CC for years but decided to finally make an account to post my stress.

@SeasonsOfLove I think that the main reason for the early acceptances is to promote SAS, so I’d say that could possibly be it.

Thanks sarahchristine!!! – Really relieved my stress a bit. Still hoping for some sort of email. I have so many sentimental plans of joy if I get accepted, like giving my LOR teachers special thank-you cards and such (I already individually thanked them both though).

I wouldn’t worry about it. My daughter sent her application on 10/16 and she just got her acceptance email late last night.

@seasons
I put no to financial aid on my application but still got the email

S got the same email today. He applied -10/31

We will not do sas- income has gone down but we still won’t qualify for need based aid. Will eventually do fafsa and hopefully receive Merit for nafinalist in January. We don’t plan to fill out CSS profile for any school.

This is not helping my confidence :/. So stressed that I can barely enjoy anything without thinking about all there early acceptance emails batches and how I haven’t gotten one yet.

Seasons of love. Have you signed in with the password they sent you. It will tell you exactly what they have received. It looks different from the common app page. Common app and
Our high school said transcript was sent. Fordham page said not received. I waited 3 days after the adjusted due date and called.
Fordham “found it” and now acceptance!

Check it Out if you haven’t.

Yeah I have. They said they’ve received everything. There isn’t a green check mark to the left of everything, but I assume some sort of .jpg glitch. They all said “Received” and have a date next to them. Last two emails I got from Fordham was an email telling me they’ve received my application on 10-27 and the other telling me about visits.

Seasonsoflove, I’m in the same boat as you. Everything was received as of 10/21 and I haven’t heard anything from them yet. I didn’t know they were sending decisions early! Now I’m stressed.

This is what I see on the student portal…

http://gyazo.com/fc01d03a3598d062df1a6f7a332ffa4e.png

Accepted yesterday:)

How do I access this “student portal” thing being spoken of?

Sutter16, if you successfully applied, Fordham should have sent you an email telling you they’ve received your application and then instructing you how to get to their student portal. Check the email you used when you applied. Respond if this works.

Sutter16, did you receive the admittance email? My daughter did on Thursday night. The email gives info about SAS for financial aid AND a link to set up your OFFICIAL student portal. Good luck!

Just to clarify – the SAS is a service which allows you to preliminarily complete the FAFSA, then finalizing it after Jan. 1. Merit-based aid, such as NMF scholarship, also requires completion of the FAFSA, though it doesn’t reduce it. One of the reasons I completed the preliminary FAFSA with SAS was to be able to receive the notification of the NMF award with the formal acceptance. In reading last year’s thread on acceptances, it seemed some who did not complete a preliminary FAFSA did not receive the notification of award with their acceptance.
