Accepted Early. Merit Aid?

The SAS process was so easy. Took 15 minutes and Fordham paid the fee! I had heard horror stories about filling out the FAFSA and avoided any stress by speaking to the nice man from SAS. It is done, however, they will want updated docs like 2013 tax returns when completed. They uses the info now to estimate awards.

Apparently they accidently sent out an email to a bunch of kids saying they were accepted even if they weren’t?? One girl at my school thought she got in because of the email but she really didn’t

And also I got the deans scholarship of $10000

Update: This is the OP. I’m glad to see so many people accepted! I got the dean scholarship and I’m so grateful but I still, unfortunately, won’t be able to afford the rest. Luckily I got in to some other schools that have given me great aid, so I should be fine. Congrats to everyone that got in and good luck at Fordham!

Hello,
Can these people from SAS be consulted about how to fill out the CSS as well, or should that be addressed to Fordham’s financial aid office?

Congrats to those who were accepted! And good luck to those waiting for responses!
I was accepted early action as well :)

Congratulations, lore3027. Fordham asked us only for the FAFSA, not the CSS. Did they ask for that, or are you assuming they will need it?

Don’t quote me but I think when my husband did the FAFSA with SAS he asked about the CSS and whether he needed to do it via College Board and was told that Fordham has its own CSS that is created based on the information SAS collected.

Thank you!!

I believe they do require the CSS profile, but when I look it up I can’t really find anything on the Fordham website.

On the CSS profile site, Fordham is listed.

<a href=“CSS Profile – CSS Profile | College Board”>CSS Profile – CSS Profile | College Board;

Fordham does require the CSS Profile. One of the advantages to working with SAS is that when you do, Fordham waives the required CSS. I found this out when I called SAS to see if I felt comfortable working via a 3rd party. They answered my questions so I completed the FAFSA info with them. Still waiting to get our estim fin aid #'s.

My daughter was accepted in December and awarded a Deans scholarship. I did the FAFSA with SAS and haven’t heard anything else yet. Without additional aid we still will not be able to send her.

@cerj002 would you mind sharing your daughter’s stats for reference?

Got accepted early decision. Filled out my SAS stuff. Got my PIP, which was an estimate, but never got anything official. Got email confirmation that my FAFSA had been processed and I would be receiving something official. And now whenever I log in to the student portal and go to the financial aid section none of my documents show up and I have no messages.

Any suggestions on who to contact/what to do?

My suggestion is to call the financial aid office and confirm that they have everything. That’s the most direct way to do it as I have found out.

Also, the site isn’t the most reliable when it comes to the documents. I appealed for financial aid and had to submit extra documents. After I submitted the documents, the site didn’t change, despite the fact that thr office had received them.
