For all those currently at Cornell accepted ED, when will we receive our ED acceptance packets? What is in the "big envelope"? Will financial aid stuff be sent separately? When do we have to agree to attend by?

I want it now. I suspect it will arrive by the end of next week, though.

I got mine this morning, it was actually 2 small envelopes with letters of congratulations, and the "ticket to Cornell", which is really just the deposit slip. It looks like we go for orientation on August 19, and classes start on August 25. I live 1.5 hours away from Ithaca, and the letter was postmarked for December 10, so you should receive them soon.

woaahh why do we start so early??
i thought colleges started in september...

we get around 6 weeks off for winter break. 'nuff said.

was there any financial stuff with ur letter?

No, they said financial aid will come in late December.

ya..i jsut got off the phoen with the financial aid office..if you turned in everything on time most likely ur financial aid award letter was mailed out today so expect it sometime this week!!! YAY CU '09

Just got acceptance letter. I'm surprised the envelope was so small; I would've been freaking out if I didn't see my decision online....thinking I got rejected or something.

LOL Adam, I would have thought the same thing...anyway, the envelope contains a letter from admissions, a letter from the admisisons office from your school witihin cornell, and your "admission ticket," which is essentially to say that you're going...

I didn't get a letter from the Engineering admissions office...though I did get something that has "Welcome to Cornell" around the side and on the top of the paper, explaining what I have to do...

towerpumpkin, i was accepted to engineering, and I got mine today as well, what I received were two letters, one from Doris Davis (i think) congratulating me on being accepted and so forth, and then another one from EDP 05(maybe early decision program 05?, not sure what it stands for) saying the stuff about when the next batch of things will come, then I got the ticket to cornell where you send in the money and that small form thing, but no letter from engineering either, so i guess there is none

also recieved the decision letter today...can't wait!!
