Have you all withdraw your other applications yet? Do you just call the admissions offices of the other universities?

Thanks!

Have you all withdraw your other applications yet? Do you just call the admissions offices of the other universities?

Thanks!

yeah i did all that fun stuff yesterday....call all the schools bc they all want you to do diff things...ugh i hada call 9 schools

I just wrote letters explaining my withdraw...is that enough or do i have to call?

My daughter sent e-mails. Two out of the three responded immediately. I don't know if she's heard ftom the third yet.

um they varied...some wanted e-mails, others wanted faxed letters, umich had me do this weird thing on their website, and some were cool with me just telling them on the phone....so yeah id call and find out

Each school wants you to send certain info for a withdrawal whether by email or letter, ie you might not be able to just write and say you are withdrawing - some want your app #, date of birth, or whatever to confirm your withdrawal.

I wrote letters to my interviewers at other schools, and emailed the schools with the requested info. I sent emails even if I never ended up finishing the app, but had sent transcripts, recs and scores. I don't know if I had to do that - did anyone else find that out?

my guidance counselor said its just common courtesy to withdraw even if you didnt send in your app yet and only sent in transcripts, recs and what not

i sent out letters today to withdraw my apps.

subacalibo - what is the special way to withdraw the umich app??

I only applied UPenn for ED, so i don't have to worry...for curiosity, or a stupid question, can we apply ED for more than 1 school, or you mean apply ed for Upenn & EA to other schools?

You can apply ED to one school and either RD or rolling admission to other schools, (don't know about EA, assume you can as long as it's not Single Choice Early Action), as long as you withdraw as soon as you get into the ED school.

oh for you umich...you go to the website and then go to admissions i think, click on "ask a question" then for the subject of the question u type 'withdraw' and for the body you give your name, ssn, and i think birthday or addrss or something and submit....it was annoying but thats what someone is the admisions office told me to do when i called

you can apply EA, but yea it cant be single choice

I applied Penn ED, 3 EAs, and 1 rolling. 2 of the EA and the rolling all sent their decisions already, but I think I'll have to call the last EA school since you can't have any applications out when you send the Penn diposit. I was kind of hoping for an acceptance from that school though...haha

i got into penn, but i only sent my SAT scores to other colleges. will i still have to notify them of my withdrawl?

I don't see why you would need to withdraw from anywhere you haven't completed an application. After all, there's no chance of getting an acceptance letter, is there? I guess if you've completed part 1 of an application, it may be common courtesy to let them know, so they don't call you for an interview, etc. However, if you've only sent scores, I doubt it's necessary.

I don't think schools even know that you've sent SAT scores before you send part of the actual application.

alright. thanks.

so whats the general concensus on sending a withdrawal letter if we only sent in transcripts?...what if i had an interview? but never sent in part 1?

idk i was just following my guidance counselor's orders...she also said that its also just good to withdraw even if you only sent in ur transcript to give other kids from your class who are also applying to that school a better shot...
